    I'm Cathy Brown．I am now working for the Sunshine Travel Service in Fuzhou, Fujian. I have just come back from Taiwan, the largest i{#blank#}1{#/blank#} of China. Last week, I took a group of officials for a week's trip to Taiwan. We t{#blank#}2{#/blank#} all around the island. There are lots of fascinating s{#blank#}3{#/blank#} on the island. My favorite sight is the Sun Moon Lake. You may ask w{#blank#}4{#/blank#} people call it so. If you  f{#blank#}5{#/blank#} high up over the lake and look down from your plane, you 'll find the answer yourself. In the middle of this lake, there's a small island t{#blank#}6{#/blank#} is called Lalu. On one s{#blank#}7{#/blank#} of Lalu the lake looks like a sun, and on the other side it looks like a   m{#blank#}8{#/blank#}. That is why people call it the Sun Moon Lake.

    There are many mountains around this lake. One of the nearest is Mount Ali. We stayed there for three days. We also h{#blank#}9{#/blank#} a dancing party with Gaoshan people there.

Why not consider v{#blank#}10{#/blank#} Taiwan for your next vacation? It's a wonderful place to visit.

Dear Cousin，

    As you know, I will graduate f毕业)in a few months and I can't decide what I should do after graduation．I had planned a two month trip to Argentina．I'm sure it will be fantastic．But I just found out that I have been accepted for the internship(实习期)at American Airlines．If I work hard，perhaps they will offer me a job at the end of the summer．This happened to another student last summer．Both are great，but I really need your help in making the fight decision．

If I travel to Argentina，I can relax and have fun with my friends．I have never taken a vacation with them and this might be the last time we can all travel together．Once I start working, it will be difficult to find so much time for a vacation．As for the internship，if I take it，I probably won't get any time to relax．I will have to start the day after graduation and I'll be busy working all the time．It will be very stressful．

     Despite(尽管)the stress，it will be a good start for me to work for American Airlines．Although I won't get paid，I will get experience．However, traveling to Argentina will let me practice my Spanish and I know that many companies(公司) want people with good Spanish skills．I also promised my friends that l would go with them．I really don't want to let them down．

    What should I do? I'm looking forward to your advice．

How to be a better student

    Maybe you are a common student. You probably think you will never be a top student. This is not necessary so, however. Anyone can become a better student if he or she wants to. Here's how:

    When you plan your week, you should make a list of things that you have to do. After making this list, you should make a schedule of your time. First set your time for eating, sleeping, dressing, etc. Then decide a good, regular time for studying. Don't forget to set aside enough time for entertainment. A weekly schedule may not solve all your problems, but it will force you to realize what is happening to your time.

    Look around the house for a good study area. Keep this space, which may be a desk or simply a corner of your room, free of everything but study materials. No games, radios, or televisions! When you sit down to study, concentrate on the subject.

    Take advantage of class time to listen to everything the teachers say. Really listening in class means less work later. Taking notes will help you remember what the teacher says.

    When you get home from school, go over your notes, review the important points that your teacher is going to discuss the next day, read that material. This will help you understand the next class. If you do these things regularly, the materials will become more meaningful, and you will remember it longer.

    The purpose of tests is to show what you have learned about a subject. They help you remember your new knowledge. The world won't end if you don't pass a test, so don't be too worried.

There are other methods that might help you with your studying. You will probably discover them after you have tried these,

    Why is setting goals(目标)important? Because goals can help you do and experience everything you want in life. Instead of just letting life happen to you, goals allow you to make your life happen. Successful people in life imagine how their life should be and set lots of goals.{#blank#}1{#/blank#}It's like having a sign to show you where you want to go. Think of it in this way. There are two drivers. One has a place to go to clearly in mind which can be found on a map. He can drive straight there surely without any wasted time. The other driver has no goal, or a map.{#blank#}2{#/blank#}But he drives aimlessly(无目的地) around, never getting anywhere, just using up oil. Which driver do you want to be?

    {#blank#}3{#/blank#}They decide what they want in life and then get there by setting goals and making plans. Unsuccessful people just let life happen by accident. Goals aren't difficult to set, and they aren't difficult to reach. {#blank#}4{#/blank#} You are the one who must decide what to achieve and in what direction to aim your life.

Research tells us that when we write a goal down we are more likely to achieve it. {#blank#}5{#/blank#} They are harder to forget. Also when you write your goals in your own way, you are able to make yourself realize situations that will bring you nearer to your goals.
