When people travel abroad(国外), they sometimes stay in the homes of the local people. This is a homestay.

    I am living with an old English couple, in the west of London. They have a clean four-bedroom house. This is a new house. It has two bathrooms and a garden with many beautiful flowers. I have a bedroom of my own.

   There are some shopping centres and a restaurant near the house, and the house is close to an underground station. It takes about 30 minutes to take an underground to the centre of London.

    I think a homestay may be a good choice for you if it is your first time to visit abroad. The local people are friendly and helpful. If you want to celebrate the holidays with them, you will get to know more about their culture and customs.

    What will the life be like in the future? I think that our life will be easier in the future. (A)We will have robots and they will help us do the boring jobs. And we (B)needn't do things like washing dishes and making the beds. I hope that doctors (C)can keep us alive for a long time. I hope that when I am 80 years old, there will be something and it will keep me alive for another 80 years. (D)我将会活到160岁。

    Qinghai Lake is in the northeast of the Qinghai Tibet plateau(青藏高原). ⑴It's the highest inland (内陆的)salt lake in China. It's like a blue mirror shining between snowy mountains and grasslands.

    There are three small islands in the lake. They are the paradise(天堂)for birds. Every year, thousands of tourists come here to enjoy the beautiful scenery(风景).

    ⑵People are trying to protect the lake and the land which is around it. Blue sky, clear lakes green grasslands and snowy mountains are all our treasures. We must treat them as our eyes.

    I've just got home after a three-week holiday in the USA with my family. It was really great, and I want to remember everything, so I'm putting it all in this diary.

Day 1

    We arrived at New York airport and took a yellow taxi to our hotel. Everything here is so big! People call New York "The city that never sleeps." Another popular name for it is "The Big apple". Don't ask me why! The population (人口) is 7,323,000. And 34 million people visit New York every year!

Day 2

    First we went to the Empire State Building (帝国大厦), which is 381 metres high. We went right up to the top and looked out across New York. It was a fantastic view! After lunch, we went shopping. Clothes and CDs are cheaper than in England, and the shops are really big!

    Although it is a big city, you can't get lost because most of the streets have numbers. For example, if you're in Thirty-fourth Street, It's easy to find Thirty- ninth Street.

Day 3

    It's Saturday. Central Park is the place to go at weekends. It's full of people walking, playing, jogging and skating. There are musicians, artists and tourists like me. There's a great zoo in the park with lots of interesting animals. In the evening we went to the cinema. The Americans call it a "movie theatre". Girls like me always like movies.
