Although it was autumn, the snow was already beginning to fall in Tibet (西藏).Our legs were so heavy and cold that 1 felt like big pieces of ice. Have you 2 seen snowmen ride bicycles? That's what we looked like! Along the way children who were 3 long wool coats stopped to look at us. In the late 4 we found it was so cold that our water bottles froze (结冰).However, the lakes 5 like glass in the setting sun and looked wonderful.

Wang Wei rode in front of me as usual. She was in high spirit and I knew I didn't need to 6 her. To climb the mountains was hard work but as we 7 us, we were surprised by the view. We seemed to be able to see for miles, and we were so high that we found ourselves cycling through clouds. After a while, we began going 8 the mountains. It was great fun especially as it slowly became much 9 .

      At the foot of the mountains, colourful butterflies flew around us and we saw many sheep eating green grass. Then we had to 10 our caps, gloves and trousers for T-shirts and shorts.   

      In the early evening we stopped to make camp .We   11   our tent（帐篷）and then we ate. After supper Wang Wei went to sleep but I stayed   12   . At midnight the sky became       13   and the stars grew brighter. As I   14  below the stars I thought about how far we had already travelled.

      We will reach Dali in Yunan Province soon, where our cousins will join us. We   15 hardly wait to see them !

    Ann was ill. She went to see a doctor. The doctor asked her to1her tongue (舌头), and then he said,  "OK. You can put your tongue back now. There's2wrong with you, but I'm afraid you have a problem, you never do3"

    "But, doctor," Ann said, "I don't think so."

    "Don't4me what you think," the doctor said, "I see a lot of people5you. None of them get any exercise. They sit in offices all day and in front of the TV in the evening. You must walk quickly for at least 20 minutes a day."

    "Doctor, you don't understand," Ann said, "I take enough exercise every day."

    "I don't want to6any excuses," the doctor said, "You must spend time 7 exercise, if you don't, you will get8 and have health problems."

    "But I walk every day." Ann said.

    "Oh, yes, and I know what kind of walking that is. You walk9meters to the bus stop from your house, from the bus stop to your office, and from your office to your dining-room for lunch and back. That's not a real walk. I'm talking about a walk by the lake or in the park for 20 minutes every day."

    "Would you please 10  me, doctor?" Ann said,   "I'm a postwoman. I walk for nearly seven hours every day."

    For a moment the doctor was silent, then he said, "Can I see your tongue again?"

    One day, a woman walked into a pet store. She wanted to buy a bird {#blank#}1{#/blank#} her Thanksgiving Day party. The guy said, "We only have one parrot, but it talks…" The woman said happily, "I just want a talking bird. {#blank#}2{#/blank#} great it will be!"

    The lady bought it at a low price. After she went back home, she put the bird on her table and {#blank#}3{#/blank#} (walk) out of the room. But as soon as she went into the kitchen, {#blank#}4{#/blank#} bird started to speak dirty words as loudly as it could. The woman walked back into the room and thought {#blank#}5{#/blank#} (careful). "I can't have this parrot at my party!" So she took the bird away and put it in the fridge.

    A few {#blank#}6{#/blank#} (hour) later, while the woman was eating cheese, she remembered that {#blank#}7{#/blank#} (she) parrot was still in the fridge. Quickly, she opened the door {#blank#}8{#/blank#} found it was shivering (发抖). She said to the bird, "I {#blank#}9{#/blank#} (keep) you out of here if you don't use that language again. Do you agree with me?" The bird nodded and asked in a much {#blank#}10{#/blank#} (polite) way than before, "Can I just ask a quick question?" Then the bird pointed at the frozen (冻僵的) turkey behind him and asked. "What did he do?"

    Having brothers or sisters means owning the most expensive gift in the world. With them, we do not have to live a 1 life and we can also learn a lot from them.

I 2 in a blue-collar (蓝领的) large family a few miles into the countryside outside Chicago. There were four 3 in my family and my parents lived a hard life to bring us up. Among all my sisters, Cynthia, who is four years older than I, has 4 me the most. Cynthia has never 5 to be different. She has always dared to point the unfair things out and 6 the way things were around us, trying to change the negative (消极的) situations through her own efforts. She has always had the 7 to look at life from a different and unusual perspective (角度). That made me 8 her very much. Her example gave me the courage to question things like her and taught me to explore my own world 9.

    Now we're both old 10 we're still exploring. We 11 a lot together each year and this year we're going to visit a few African countries. After experiencing more and more, I realize that it's great to grow old because without work to 12, you have more time to take trips and have adventures, like we are now. Cynthia and I have always been 13, and now in our 60s, we still keep a good relationship as ever. I'm so grateful to have such a sister.
