Bridges are built for many reasons. Some bridges are built so that cars{#blank#}1{#/blank#} (cross) over rivers. Others are made for trains to use . In Washington State, there is a very unusual bridge. It was built for squirrels(松鼠) 。

 The town of Longview has a very busy street. Many cars pass it every day. When squirrels tried to cross the street, they {#blank#}2{#/blank#}  (kill) . Amos Peters wanted {#blank#}3{#/blank#}  (protect) these small and lovely animals, so he built a bridge for them——one that would let them pass above the traffic.

 The bridge {#blank#}4{#/blank#}    (be)  a symbol of the town for over 40 years since then. And every Christmas, the local people  {#blank#}5{#/blank#}   (add) a small Christmas tree to the center of the bridge .How lovely!　　

 A few years ago, the local people {#blank#}6{#/blank#}   (create) a squirrel festival and they raised money {#blank#}7{#/blank#}  (build)  two more bridges for these lovely animals. For years, because of the bridges . the squirrels in the town have been able to cross safely from one side of the street to the other.

Nine is {#blank#}5{#/blank#} (high)digit(数字)，so it {#blank#}6{#/blank#} (regard) that the two together mean a long life.

    The festival comes{#blank#}7{#/blank#} the golden time of autumn. The clear weather and the joy of harvest make for a happy atmosphere. On the day, people{#blank#}8{#/blank#} (traditional) climb a mountain and carry dogwood. People in ancient times believed{#blank#}9{#/blank#} the plant could drive away evil{#blank#}10{#/blank#} (spirit)and prevent people against cold in winter.

    Rami Adam, a 44-year-old man, is called Uncle Tony. He helped the children of his native city during the Syrian war. At the {#blank#}1{#/blank#}(开始), he planned to carry food for them. But his daughter advised him to carry her{#blank#}2{#/blank#}(自己的) toys to Syrian  children.

    Adham said, "The first time, we went to a camp near a {#blank#}3{#/blank#}(小溪). We had brought food. But when we started giving away the toys, kids were more excited. However, in his {#blank#}9{#/blank#}(观点), the dangers he faces on his every trip aren't enough to stop him. He has so far made the journey to Aleppo 28 times, and doesn't plan to stop {#blank#}10{#/blank#}(直到) the war ends.

    Everyone has his {#blank#}1{#/blank#}（自己的）dream of the future. But do you know what the future really is? I think future is now. We should make the best use of every hour and take every  {#blank#}9{#/blank#}（机会）. We should do everything as {#blank#}10{#/blank#}（很好地） as possible . Never put off what can be done today till tomorrow.

    Sometimes people don't know how important it is to have a good lifestyle. Mike and Bill are good friends. They{#blank#}1{#/blank#}to the same school. They both like studying. However，Mike gets {#blank#}2{#/blank#}grades than Bill because Bill often gets sick. He never eats vegetables. But he eats Junk food five times {#blank#}7{#/blank#}week. And what's worse，he never brushes his{#blank#}8{#/blank#}before he goes to sleep. But Mike is very {#blank#}9{#/blank#}from Bill. He cares about his health. He exercises every day and he {#blank#}10{#/blank#}healthy food. So he is never ill." Good health helps you study better." He often says to Bill.
