People use money {#blank#}1{#/blank#}  food, books, bicycles and hundreds of other things they {#blank#}2{#/blank#} .When they {#blank#}3{#/blank#} ,they usually get paid in money.
    Most of the money used today{#blank#}4{#/blank#}  metal or paper. But in ancient times people often used all kinds of things as money. One of the first kinds of money was shells（贝壳）.
    In ancient China, cloth and knives {#blank#}5{#/blank#}  money. Elephant tusks（象牙）,monkey tails（尾巴）and salt were used in some parts of Africa. Rice was also a kind of money used by the ancient people on some islands. Cows and other animals were used as money. too.
The first copper（铜）coins {#blank#}6{#/blank#}  China. They were round and had a square（正方的）hole in the center. Different countries have used different metals for their money. Later some countries {#blank#}7{#/blank#}  to make coins of gold and silver（银）.But gold, silver and copper were heavy {#blank#}8{#/blank#}  when people needed a lot of coins to buy something expensive. The Chinese were the first {#blank#}9{#/blank#}  paper money. The first paper money didn't {#blank#}10{#/blank#}  like the paper money we use today.

    There is a sign at a Korean university asking tourists {#blank#}1{#/blank#} (not step) into the grass to take photos. The sign {#blank#}2{#/blank#} (write) in Chinese, not Korean or English.   

    These signs, and signs in other countries warning Chinese tourists about their behavior, have shamed many Chinese who worry about the image of the country.

    Over 70 million Chinese tourists {#blank#}3{#/blank#} (make) overseas trips last year and {#blank#}4{#/blank#} (spend) $102 billion, more than the $84 billion spent by American and German tourists. For many Chinese tourists, it {#blank#}5{#/blank#} (be) their first trip abroad and they didn't know about foreign ways. And some of these tourists took their bad habits from China with them.

    Wang Yang, a Chinese deputy prime minister (国务院副总理), said, "They (the tourists) speak loudly in public, carve words or numbers on tourist attractions, {#blank#}6{#/blank#} (cross) the road when the traffic lights {#blank#}7{#/blank#} (be) still red and spit anywhere. It damages(毁坏) the image of the Chinese people and {#blank#}8{#/blank#} (have) a very bad influence."

    Before you travel to a foreign country, it's important {#blank#}9{#/blank#} (learn)  some things about the country and its culture. You are guests in the country and it's important to respect(尊重) your hosts. As more and more Chinese visit foreign countries, their behavior will certainly change and those shameful signs {#blank#}10{#/blank#} (disappear), we hope.

They sometimes did not even get food for the birds. The birds knew why. The elder bird said to her brother, "Have patience (耐心) {#blank#}7{#/blank#}the bad days are over."

    One day, while the king's son was {#blank#}8{#/blank#} Kala' s show, he got frightened (惊吓的) and cried. Hearing his cry, all the people ran there and took {#blank#}9{#/blank#} Kala. The next day, they {#blank#}10{#/blank#} the monkey to the forest.

    The bad days of the birds were over.
