I still remember my first Christmas adventure(冒险) with Grandma. As we walked into a store, Grandma gave me ten dollars. That was 1 money in those days. “Take the money,” she said, “and buy   2 for someone who needs it. I'll wait for you in the 3.” Then she walked out of the store.

    I was only eight years old then. I had often gone shopping with my mother, but I had 4shopped for anything alone. I didn't know what 5 or who to buy it for.

    I 6 everybody I knew. Finally, I had an idea. I would buy Bobby a 7! He needed one. I knew that 8 he never went out during the winter. His mother always 9a note, telling the teacher that he was ill, but all we kids knew that was not 10.

    I chose a red coat. It looked really 11.

    When I returned to Grandma's car, she helped me write a note “To Bobby,  12 Father Christmas''. Then she drove me over to Bobby's house.

    Some time later, Grandma 13her car near Bobby's house. We got off and hid in the bushes(灌木). Then Grandma said to me, “All right, Father Christmas, get going.”

    I ran to Bobby's front door, put the 14 down, rang his doorbell and flew back to Grandma. Together we waited for the front door 15 …

    That night, I realized that Father Christmas was alive(活着), and we were on his team. I felt so happy.

    Stuart and Steve were twin brothers. Stuart loved to play basketball. But Steve loved to read books.

    One day Stuart was playing basketball 1 he fell and broke his leg. When they took him to the hospital, the doctor said he wouldn't be able to play for six months. Steve went 2 him and brought him books on basketball. At first Stuart wasn't going to read them. Then he began to read them and 3 that there were ways he could play basketball better. He began to think that books weren't 4.

    When Stuart's leg started getting better, Steve would help him by going for walks with him. 5 Stuart's doctor said he could start playing basketball again. Then Stuart showed Steve how to toss(投) for baskets. Steve found that he enjoyed it.

    Mary likesto run. Ever since she was in the third grade, she has been training to runlong distances. Now that she was in her eighth grade, her parents agreed to lether run in the Banana Classic. The Banana Classic is a ten-kilometre race. Ittakes place every year in Mattydale. The winners get a lifetime supply (提供) of peanuts and fruit juice.

    Marypractised by running ten kilometres, twice every day. On the average (平时的) run, she would finish inthirty minutes. Last year's winner finished the race in twenty-six minutes andten seconds!

    On the dayof the race, Mary ran faster than she ever had in the past. As she came acrossthe last kilometre, she was in the fourth place. She picked up the pace (步伐) and quickly reached the secondplace, just as she could see the finishing line. She ran as fast as she couldin a mad dash (冲刺) to the finish line, but she justwasn't fast enough to get ahead of the leader.

When I was 7 years old, I went to the USA with my mom. I can still1 the first Halloween holiday I had in the USA.

2 the morning of Halloween, we visited a pumpkin farm. I used the pumpkin to make a lantern which had two big eyes and a scary mouth. In the afternoon we 3 the Halloween costumes(服装) and went on parade(游行) in school. Some of the costumes were nice,4 some of them looked scary. I chose to wear a suit of Superman's clothes.

I did a lot of 5 that day, but the part I liked best was" trick or treat" in the evening. After dinner,I went outside with an empty bag. I hoped 6 a lot of candies from people.

At first, I was a bit nervous, so when I knocked at the door, my heart was 7 very fast. A lady came out, and I said carefully to 8 ," Trick or treat". My voice was very low, so low that I couldn't hear myself speak. To my 9 , the lady was so kind that she gave me two candy bars, and I was so cheerful. I thanked the lady and moved on. I couldn't remember how many houses I visited, but I could remember how many candies I got, I got 91 pieces of candy.

10 happy Halloween I had !

 Boys and girls, what sport do you like? Do you like skiing(滑雪)?I can't do it. It looks very difficult! Do you know Gu Eileen? She is a great ski player. Her father is American and her mother is Chinese.

 Now she is 20 years old. Why does she look beautiful and strong? First, she thinks good eating habits help her to be healthy. For breakfast, she likes eggs and milk. She has vegetables and chicken for lunch. For dinner, she likes salad and fish. Beijing duck is her favorite food but she doesn't eat too much. Second, when all her classes finish from Monday to Friday at school, she must do more sports.

 Gu wins two gold medals(奖牌) in the 2022 Beijing Winter Olympics(冬奥会). Now, she is a big star in China and in the world.
