In July, China introduced the"Double Reduction"Policy. It hopes to reduce the stress of homework on primary and middle school students. The policy calls for reducing homework and after-school classes. According to the policy, children below the third grade will not have homework anymore.It should take no more than 90 minutes for middle school students to finish their homework. After-school training institutions(机构) are not allowed to offer advanced(提前的)teaching on weekends, holidays or during winter and summer vacations.

"Our homework is clearly less than before", said 13-year-old Shen Yuzhe from Beijing."We are not encouraged to buy workbooks anymore. The exercises are mainly from the textbook."According to Shen, students have enough time to learn new knowledge now."Our teachers are also giving us more chances to try out and learn from real life,"said Shen.

For 13-year-old Zhang Hangming from Tianjin, the best thing about"Double Reduction"is the increased time in after-school activities."We can now spend more time taking part in clubs and activities, such as dancing, volleyball and musical instruments. I can learn all kinds of skills more than schoolwork,"said Zhang.

Shen also pointed out that self-discipline becomes more important now."Some students now spend more time having fun when homework is finished early. But if you use all the free time to relax, you might fall behind other students,"he said.

 阅读A、B、C、D四篇材料,从每小题所给的四个选项中选出最佳选项。

In a recent small group activity in Mrs. Johnson's 9th-grade class, students came together to discuss how a growth mindset (思维模式) can greatly influence our life. Here are the opinions on developing a growth mindset shared by the students.

Steps

Opinions from Group Discussions

Believe in Yourself

Start by believing yourself that you have the power to change your habits. Your habits are shaped by your beliefs and strengths. Use positive statements to welcome changes into your life and prepare your mind for a new way of thinking.

Accept and Overcome Weaknesses

Whatever your weakness is, accept and explore different approaches (方法) to overcome it. Be kind to yourself and focus on finding solutions instead of being angry with yourself. If you have to get out of bed early in the morning, try setting the alarm earlier or preparing things in advance to make mornings easier.

Welcome Challenges for Growth

Stepping out of your comfort zone (区)and taking on new challenges helps you improve your skills and broaden your knowledge and experiences. Whether it's learning a new sports skill or making progress in your studies, look for challenges that push you to grow. Appreciate the unexpected challenges along the way.

Work with Your Learning Styles

Find out how you learn best, as it will help you learn more effectively. Some learners need to see things to understand them, while others do better with listening or talking. Take your time to learn and look for excellence by practicing and repeating. Accept applying what you learn, even if you make mistakes, as they help you become more skilled.

Developing a growth mindset not only reduces worry but also brings happiness. By celebrating your achievements and enjoying the journey of growth and learning, you can create a satisfying and successful life.

It was a February afternoon. We were in a classroom. Taylor Angler watched some ducks swimming on a farm. But it was all in her head. A virtual reality headset (虚拟现实头戴式显示设备) took her there. "I was surprised to find that the ducks were right in front of me! It was an exciting experience (经历)." Taylor said after taking off the purple headset and finding herself still in the classroom. Many students around the world are taking VR "trips" like Taylor. But what change does it cause in learning?

Taking children to visit different places is a good way to teach them about the world. But what can children do if they forget it after the trip? VR lets children go back at any time.

It's difficult to talk about something if you didn't see it with your own eyes in the past. If you didn't see the ocean, with VR, now you can have a look at it for yourself.

VR can also help students in science classes at school. "Too often at school, when you do experiments (实验), you put different kinds of chemicals together and then get the result. And if you aren't successful, you need to do it again, " a high school teacher said. "But we don't have enough chemicals. With VR, I just need to do it again on the computer. I don't have to use chemicals."

VR is useful, but that's not to say we don't need real-world experiences. The real world is what we really need to learn about.

 阅读下面短文,从每题所给的A、B、C、D 四个选项中选出最佳选项。

①Some people think creativity is making something completely new, so they do not think they are creative. But others believe creativity is just showing themselves through everyday acts and they are born creative. The truth is we all have the ability to show creativity.

②Are you someone who loves to read comics (漫画)? Perhaps it is time you create one of your own. Don't worry if you cannot draw very well or feel that you cannot write humorously. Nobody says this is an exam! You only have to please yourself to get the satisfaction. And of course you can share it with your loved ones, or post it on social media.

③Are you someone who likes making videos? Try a vlog, "video blog". In your vlog, you can share your daily life, your travel adventures, your hobbies and skills and many more. The vlog provides you with a platform to create something new every day.

④Are you someone who likes to be alone? Find a small place in your room where you can spend time with yourself. You can pick up a guitar if you like to play instruments, or a few storybooks if you love reading. You may like flowers, candles or pretty things. Decorate your room with them. If you feel bored with them, you can change, add or remove something.

⑤Take every chance to inspire your creativity, no matter how small it is. You might be surprised by what you can create! Start creating and enjoy the wonderful journey.
