Michael Hassard, a former engineer for NASA, hikes and camps, takes long bicycle rides and plays football. He always looks active, 1he cries quite often. "I keep paper towels at hand all the time," says Mr. Hassard.

    Mr. Hassard cries so2just because he is a Highly Sensitive(敏感的）Person(HSP). This kind of person is very sensitive to feelings-their own and3of others. Mr. Hassard first realized he was highly sensitive in his early teens. He said when he sang in the church, there were songs that he had a hard time4. Why? They moved him so much. Sometimes his friends5his tears and asked him what was wrong. He always answered," Nothing, I'm fine." Finally, he learned to control his feelings6practicing the songs over and over again in his free time.

    Researches of HSPs show differences in their neural(神经的）activity. Compared with non-HSPs, HSPs pay7attention to the environment around them and care more about the 8 of their friends and parents.

    Scientists say that high sensitivity can be 9 in at least 100 spices(物种). We cannot have the idea that HSPs are different from us and stay far away from them. Instead, we should help them find 10 to deal with their feelings. In modern times, HSPs can be excellent teachers, artists, reporters, etc.

Our family {#blank#}1{#/blank#} red because it was the Spring Festival yesterday. We got up early in the morning. My mom was busy. She {#blank#}2{#/blank#}her glasses and then {#blank#}3{#/blank#} my younger brother. When everything was ready, we{#blank#}4{#/blank#} our coats and went out to visit our relatives.

Cathy was a special girl. She liked playing football with the boys in her class. And she never liked to do what other girls did. Cathy was welcome among the boys in her class because she played football better than many of them. However, Cathy's girl friends began to stay away from her. Cathy felt upset and she didn't understand why.

One morning, on her way to school, Cathy saw her friend Karen and decided to talk to her.

"Karen, why don't you want me to be your friend any more?" asked Cathy.

"You play football with boys. It makes you look like a boy," said Karen.

Cathy was kind of angry. She said, "I play with the boys because I like the sport. But I also like to play with you and that should not be a problem."

Days passed. One afternoon, Cathy was playing football with two boys when Karen came to her.

"Cathy, I thought what you said these days. You're right. I should respect (尊重) your hobby. I'm sorry," Karen said.

Cathy's friend learned to respect her hobby and understood that there is no sport just for girls or boys. You can do the sport as long as (只要) you like it.

I recently learned an interesting lesson about the power of 2 . It was a story about two friends—a Canadian girl named Jessica Stuart and a Japanese girl named Fukue. Stuart's parents got new jobs in Japan and moved there to 3 when she was a child. After Stuart met Fukue at school, they became good friends. Stuart often 4 Fukue from bullies (欺凌弱小者). After one year, Stuart's family moved back home. Stuart and Fukue stayed in 5 by writing letters to each other. 6 , after two years, Fukue's letters stopped coming. Stuart was confused (困惑不解的). Why did the letters stop? She began a long journey to find her 7 friend again. Many years later, she found Fukue. Both girls were adults by then. It 8 that Fukue dropped out of school because she was bullied again. That happened after Stuart 9 . Luckily, they were able to find each other again, 10 after many years apart. 

Not every friendship can last forever. People come and go. But true friends can find a way to stay together forever—even if they've been far apart for a long time. 

I'm Robert and I live in Shanghai now. Last weekend, I went to a village for a vacation with my friends. 

My trip started early in the morning at Shanghai Hongqiao Railway Station. After two hours on the train to Ningbo and more than two hours on the bus, I arrived at the village: Fengpuao. Fengpuao looks so small on the map, but 2, 000 people live there, next to a lake and forests. 

I stayed with my host family (寄宿家庭) for two days. They told me that I could call them Mama and Baba. 

They had a daughter called Eva and she showed me around the garden and told me how to grow vegetables. I also went with Baba to a bamboo forest. Then we went to the lake to go fishing. In the evening, my family and friends came over. We had a big dinner together. 

The next day I woke up with the song of birdsi. After breakfast, we went to work on the farm all day.  It was hard but very interesting. That evening I came back to Shanghai. 

The trip was short, but it made me relax from the busy life. And it was a great time together with my host family.
