When I was 18，my family left China. And a year later, we made our way to New York. Unluckily, my father {#blank#}1{#/blank#} （失败）to find a job, so I had to help support my family. I looked through the want ads every morning and later had an {#blank#}2{#/blank#} （面试）for a job at Waterbury Hospital Health Centre. There I was told my work would {#blank#}3{#/blank#} （包括）sweeping floors. I smiled and remembered my father's advice.

    "Take pride in what you do,”my lather said, "whether you're a {#blank#}4{#/blank#} （老板）or are sweeping floors.”

    So even if my job was the lowest, I was{#blank#}5{#/blank#} （激动的）to do it.     Many people believe that, by the year 2100, we will live on the planet Mars(火星). Here is what life could be like.
    First of all, transport should be much better. By 2100, spaceship can travel at half the speed of light. {#blank#}1{#/blank#}
    Secondly, humans need food, water and air to live. Scientists should be able to find plants that can grow on Mars. These plants will provide us with food and air.
{#blank#}2{#/blank#} We could easily jump too high and fly slowly away into space. To prevent this, humans on Mars have to wear special shoes to make themselves heavier.
    Life on Mars will be better in many ways. {#blank#}3{#/blank#} It is possible to live in a large building with many bedrooms. Then, robot will do most of the work, so we have more time for hobbies.
{#blank#}4{#/blank#} Every student can study, do their homework on the computer and take exams in online schools. Each student will also have their own online teacher called “e-teacher”.
    However, in some ways, life on Mars may not be better than that on the earth today.  {#blank#}5{#/blank#} Meals will probably be in the shape of pills(药片) and will not be as delicious as they are today. Also, space travel will make many people feel ill.

    As middle school students, we should not only know how to protect  {#blank#}1{#/blank#} (我们). But we should know how to help people in {#blank#}2{#/blank#} (苦恼). Zhang Qiang is just the boy who can help himself and others.

    Zhang Qiang is a  {#blank#}3{#/blank#} (有残疾的) student. There is something {#blank#}4{#/blank#} (有毛病) with his left leg. But he never gives up. He often does {#blank#}5{#/blank#} (志愿者) work on weekends.For example, he tells stories to those {#blank#}6{#/blank#} (孤独的) old people in the old people's home. Although it's difficult for him to walk to school, he kept on doing so. At school, he {#blank#}7{#/blank#} (和睦相处) on well with his classmates and teachers.He always gets good {#blank#}8{#/blank#} (成绩).     Carols and Ming are good friends.{#blank#}1{#/blank#} of them study in Class Four， Grade One of NO. 3 Middle School. Ming is good at {#blank#}2{#/blank#} but Carols is a little weak.

    One day they had an English test. Ming got a full mark， {#blank#}3{#/blank#} Carols did not pass it. Ming was so happy {#blank#}4{#/blank#} he began to play all day.

    I believe there are many things that we can do to make life in our town a lot better for teenagers.

    First of all, I think more bike lanes should {#blank#}1{#/blank#} (build). A lot of teenagers in my town bike everywhere, {#blank#}2{#/blank#} it's very dangerous because there is a lot of traffic. If there are more bike lanes in the future, it will be much {#blank#}3{#/blank#}(safe) for us.

    {#blank#}4{#/blank#} (two), I believe that we need more places for teenagers to go to. {#blank#}5{#/blank#} my opinion, teenagers won't cause problems in the street if there are more places for us to go to. So we need more {#blank#}6{#/blank#} (club) and other places where we can meet.

    Thirdly, teenagers here need more sports facilities. There {#blank#}7{#/blank#}(be) places to play ball games so far like tennis and basketball, but what about other sports, {#blank#}8{#/blank#} skating and rollerblading?

    Finally, I'm sure we'll make the town better {#blank#}9{#/blank#} we don't drop litter. If we all do something {#blank#}10{#/blank#}(help) now, our town will be much better for everyone in the future.
