Every year, thousands of people offer volunteer service. These volunteers play an important {#blank#}1{#/blank#}in our society because they help the old, the young, the sick and the disabled to {#blank#}2{#/blank#}their problems.

    Volunteers usually help in many different {#blank#}3{#/blank#}. They may give people advice, offer friendship to the young, {#blank#}4{#/blank#}money, plant trees, visit the home for the elderly, work {#blank#}5{#/blank#}an assistant in a school or nursing home and do many other things.

    Volunteering can be a few {#blank#}6{#/blank#}a week or a few hours a month, time during the day, evenings or weekends, {#blank#}7{#/blank#}full time or part time. Anybody who is willing to {#blank#}8{#/blank#}people in need can become a volunteer.
