Perhaps the only test score that I remember is the 55 I got when I was in high school.

    The test was the last one of the term. I remember waiting nervously as my teacher Mr. Right gave out our papers one after another. It was a rather difficult test. I heard my classmates groaning(叹息),and I could guess by the groans that the scores were not looking good.

    Mr Right put my paper on my desk. There in big red numbers, circled to catch attention, was my score, 55! I let my head go down, and covered the score up quickly. A 55 is not something that you wanted your classmates to see. "The scores were not very good, none of you passed," Mr Right said. "The highest score in the class was a 55."

    A 55. That's me! Suddenly I didn't feel so bad. I had the highest score. I was getting a little better.

    I walked home alone that day with the low but high score. My mother knew that I had a big test that day and asked me as soon as I got home, "How did you do in your test? ""I got 55, "I said. A frown (皱眉) appeared on my mother's face I knew I had to explain at once. "But Mum, I had the highest score in the class," I said proudly. "You failed, Dave!" my mother replied. "But it's the highest!" I insisted (坚持). "I don't care what scores others had, you failed. The important thing is what you do!" my mother said in a strong way.

    For years, my mother was always in that way. She didn't care what others did, only cared what I did and that I did it excellently. My mother's words have made a big difference to my life.

    Mr. Gao lives in a town. When he was twenty-five, his son was born. He calls him Gao Ling. The little boy is clever and his parents love him very much.

    It's September 1^st today. A new school year begins. Gao Ling is happy and wears his most beautiful clothes. He's going to school with his new bag.

    "Let me take you to school, dear," said Mrs. Gao.

    "Thank you, Mummy," said the boy, "The school is not far from here. I can go there myself."

    At school a teacher met the little boy and asked," What's your name, my little friend?" "Gao Ling, sir", answered the boy. "How old are you?" "Six, sir."

    "What's your father's name?" "Gao Dalin, sir". "How old is he?" "He's six too, sir." "Oh," the teacher said in surprise. "Is he as old as you?"

    "Yes, sir." said the boy. "He became a father only at that time when I was born."

I am Sandy Brown. Tony, Mary and I are in the same class. They are brother and sister but they don't like the same food.

 Mary doesn't want to be fat. So, for breakfast, she only has an egg and a cup of milk. For lunch, she has some vegetables and rice with her friends. For dinner, she likes fruit salad. She likes ice- cream and hamburgers, but she doesn't eat them. She thinks they can make her fat.

 What about Tony? He likes sports very much and he plays volleyball well. He always has a big breakfast: two eggs, some milk and salad. For lunch, he likes chicken, a hamburger and some rice. After school, he plays volleyball with his classmates. So he is hungry in the evening. He likes some vegetables, two hamburgers and some fruit for dinner.

Do you know suona? It's a kind of Chinese1 . Zhou Haiyan is from Anhui and her2 started playing the suona over 100 years ago. Zhou's father taught her suona when she was only six. At the age of9, she could3 it very well. 

Later, Zhou4 that there were few chances(机会)to play the suona. Many people were not rich, so they left home to5 other work. Zhou wanted to make money like them, but she couldn't give up(放弃)playing the suona. It is the most6 part of her life. 

Now Zhou Haiyan is 56 years old. Last year, she started to hold livestream(直播)suona shows for three7 a day. Zhou plays the suona8 in the shows. And they get popular (受欢迎的)with a lot of Chinese music9 . Zhou does farm work during the day and plays the suona at night. "It feels10 to do my favourite thing. "she says happily.
