“Do you like my dress?”a little girl asked a passing woman. “My mother made it for me,” she said with tears in her eyes.

“ Well, I think it's very beautiful,   why are you crying?”asked the woman. The little girl answered, “After Mommy made me this dress, she had to go away. Daddy sai that she's up in heaven(天堂) with Grandparents.” The woman realized what the child meant and why she . She held the girl in her arms.

Then  , the little girl did something strange. She stopped crying, and began to sing. It was the   sound the woman had ever heard, almost like the song of a very small bird. After the child stopped singing, she explained to the woman,  "Mommy had  me the song before she went away. And she made me   to sing it whenever I started crying. She said it would make me stop." You see, now my eyes are dry.

As the woman turned to go, the little girl said to her, "Madam, can you wait just a minute? I want to show you ." "Of course", answered the woman. "What do you want me ?"

Pointing to a spot(斑点) on her dress, the little girl said, "Right here is where my Mommy kissed my dress, and here is another kiss, and here, and here…Mommy said that she put all those  on my dress so that I would have her love with me."

Then the woman realized that she no longer saw a little girl in a simple dress. She saw a child wrapped(包裹)in her  love.

    When we hear about “the homeless”, most of us think of the developing world. But the fact is that we can see homeless people{#blank#}1{#/blank#}. For example, how many of us would expect {#blank#}2{#/blank#} people living on the streets of a developed country like Germany?

    Kurt Muller and his wife (妻子) Rita had spent years making meals for the homeless of Berlin, Germany. They often stayed at home, made sandwiches, set a table in the street and gave food to the homeless. “I got such a strong{#blank#}3{#/blank#} when I saw thankful and happy smiles (微笑) on their faces.” said Kurt.

    The Mullers soon found that food and clothing weren't enough. “What these people also need is warmth and caring.” said Rita. Rita made sure there was somebody at home to answer the phone and their home was always {#blank#}5{#/blank#} to the homeless.

    Kurt and Rita get nothing for their hard work. “We feel like parents,” says Rita, “and parents shouldn't expect money for {#blank#}7{#/blank#} their children. The love we get on the streets is the best thing for {#blank#}8{#/blank#}.” Though Rita and Kurt meet many {#blank#}9{#/blank#} and often get tired, they say they will go on with the work because they like the {#blank#}10{#/blank#} of having made a difference in the world.
