    China's national anthem, March of the Volunteers, is a song that we learn at the beginning of primary school and sing at every flag-raising ceremony. And now, there's even a law to protect it.

    Last September, the government passed the National Anthem Law, which became effective(生效) from Oct.1, 2017. It states how we should sing or play the song, requiring all of us to behave towards it politely.

    Primary and middle schools must teach the anthem to their students and make them understand the song's spirit and history. Moreover, the law requires us to be serious when we are singing the song. We can't joke about it or change the song's words or music. If someone breaks the law, he or she can be detained for up to 15 days, or face further punishment in more serious situations. The national anthem is different from other songs – it is the symbol of our country.

    Many foreign countries also have laws for their national anthems. For example, American school children should put their right hand over their heart while singing their country's anthem at school. In Russia, the national anthem must be played on television and radio before the start and end of broadcasting. And in the Philippines, people are required to sing the national anthem with feelings when it's played in public.

Tips for Traveling to Yading

Best time to visit:

April, May, September, and October

Best tour route:

Tourists can choose between a long route or a short route, 1-2 days are recommended. The long route starts at Chonggu Temple, and goes on to the Luorong Cattle Farm, the Milk Lake, and Five-Color Lake. The short route starts at Chonggu Temple, and goes on to the Pearl Lake and Luorong Cattle Farm. 

Transportation:

When traveling by air, the nearest airport to Yading scenic area is Daocheng Yading Airport. The flight from Chengdu to Daocheng takes 65 minutes. 

There is no direct bus from the Daocheng Airport to Yading. Travelers need to take the airport bus to reach Daocheng County first. The airport bus is available after each flight landing and the trip lasts one hour costing RMB 30 per person. 

Tickets:

High season: April-November, RMB 146

Low season: December-March, RMB 120

Half price for people under 18, students; free for military personnel, people with disabilities and senior citizens. 

Accommodations:

Accommodations at Yading Village are expensive, but the views are worthwhile. In the nearby Shangri-La Town, there are a lot of hotels, where the room prices are more affordable.

Yesterday we took a bus to the Park. It was a very clear day. From the top, we saw the whole of Hong Kong. We took lots of photos. Some of them will be really good. I will buy a video camera for you because I know you want one. I'll get it tomorrow because we are going shopping.

Dear Mum and Dad. 

We are having a lovely time in Hong Kong. Two days ago, we went to a place called Ocean Park. We saw lots of sharks and dolphins there. Robert enjoyed it very much. Today we are going to Lantau Island. We will see the huge statue of Buddha there. Tomorrow we are going shopping on Hong Kong Island. 

Hong Kong is very different to our hometown in England. The streets are more crowded and there is more traffic on the roads. It is noisier than at home as well, and everything is more expensive here!

Hi Dan!

Hong Kong is a great city! There is so much to see and do here. We went to a great place called Ocean Park. I saw lots of tropical fish and some sharks. I also went on a roller—coaster and a cable car. 

I loved the roller—coaster and I went on it four times! Mum and Dad thought I was lost, but then they saw me at the top of the roller—coaster. 

Tomorrow will be a shopping day, the worst part of the holiday!

Hello, everyone. I am Eric, a student in No. I Middle School. Now let me tell you about my favorite teacher. 

My favorite teacher is Mrs. Plath. She is my English teacher. She is my friend John's aunt, too. She is good to every student in my class. Everyone likes her. She gives us some interesting homework. It's relaxing for me to do the homework. 

Now Mrs. Plath is 40. She has many things to do. She has three classes a day. And she helps in the reading club after school. She helps children read and makes them love books. 

I think good teachers can make students love school. They have a good influence (影响) on their students. Mrs. Plath is a good teacher. I want to thank her. I want to be a teacher like her. 

①A lot of people play sports, but very few people become sports professionals (专家). If sports aren't going to be your future, then why should you play them? Why should you train every day? Why should you work hard and feel sore (酸痛的) the next day? Wouldn't it be better to forget sports and only pay attention to your lessons? In fact, there are a lot of reasons to play sports. 

②First of all, sports are a great way to exercise. Exercising keeps you healthy and strong. It also helps you stay in a good condition. When you exercise, your body makes endorphins (安多芬) which give you more energy and make you feel happier. 

③Also, sports teach young people how to communicate and work as a team. They teach young people to respect (尊重) their coaches, teammates and players from the other team. Many reports say that sports help young people stay out of trouble. If a young person plays sports, he or she may have fewer problems. This is because sports teach people about rules. They also teach people that if they work hard, they might succeed. 

④Another good way of sports is that they make people leave their houses. These days, a lot of people spend too much time watching television and playing video games. When you play sports, you go outside and exercise in the sun. You take in fresh air. All of these things are important. 

⑤Maybe you're not going to become a sports professional, but that doesn't matter, sports will help you become a better and happier person.

Many parents make their children do chores around the house. For some families，teaching children what to do and how to do chores is easy. For other families，asking children to do some housework can be a very big problem. 

It is a good idea for parents to tell their children that all family members must work together to make the house clean，and each member must do his or her part of the work. This can be done by starting a program of chores when children are young. 

Doing chores is good for children — even very young ones. On the one hand，doing some chores teaches children many important skills. For example，children can learn how to work together with others. On the other hand，doing chores can teach children to take care of themselves. In short，the useful skills they learn by doing chores will benefit them in their life.
