Alex, Nicole and Vickie are friends. They live in the same neighborhood. They want to make some money to buy Christmas presents.

    "We need to print out fliers（传单） and pass them around to all the houses, "says Nicole. Alex's dad helps them print out fliers. The three friends go to all the houses and put a flier in everyone's mailbox.

    "It's winter," says Vickie. "There is lots of snow on the ground. Maybe people will need us to sweep the snow for them."

    First, Mrs. Jones hires the children to sweep the snow from her driveway（车道）. She says, "I have twin baby girls. I am much too busy to sweep the snow myself."

    Then, Mrs. Smith calls them. She says, "I am very old, and the snow is much too heavy for me to move."

    Then, Mr. Lee visits them. He says, "My garden is much too big to sweep all by myself. Can you help me?"

    The children work very hard sweeping the snow. It is cold, but they also have great fun. They make 30 dollars in all. Now they can buy nice Christmas presents for their friends and families.

    Although I'm not in my childhood, I still prefer reading fairy tales(童话).They often make me think of some special experiences and feelings. This summer I've reviewed The Little Prince. It was first published in 1943.It's a world famous fairy tale written by the French author Antoine.

    “I”, the narrator(讲述者) of the story, is a pilot. His plane has something wrong and lands in the Sahara. The little prince lives on a small planet, and he grows a flower called ROSE there. One day they have a quarrel(争吵), so the little prince runs away. On his all­ alone journey, he meets different kinds of people. From these people he gets a conclusion(结论) that grown­ups are strange. And with the help of the man he meets, he descends in the Sahara.

    This book moves me a lot. It is not only a fairy tale for children and teenagers, but also for grown­ups.

    Once upon a time there was an old man. He was really good at fishing. One day, he was fishing on the bank of a river. Soon he caught a full basket of fish. Just at that time, a child came and said to him, "Can you give me the fishing rod(钓鱼竿) in your hands? The old man looked up at him and said, "I can give you a full basket of fish." But the child shook his head. The old man was surprised and asked, "Why do you want the rod instead of the fish?"

    "Oh! You know it doesn't take long to eat all the fish in a basket. But if I have the fishing rod, I can go fishing by myself and I won't be afraid of not having any fish to eat."

    You may certainly think that the child is very smart. Wrong! If he doesn't know how to fish, he cannot eat any fish, even if he has the fishing rod. It's useless to only have a fishing rod. Fishing skills are more important than the fishing rod.

    Too many people think that if they have "a fishing rod" in their life, they will no longer fear the wind and rain. In fact they will make the same mistake like the child in the story.

    A few days ago, I walked into a stranger as he passed by. I said sorry to him, and we were very polite. Then we went on our way after saying goodbye.

    Later in the kitchen at home, as I cooked our meal, my daughter Betty walked up to me, very quietly. When I turned around, I nearly knocked her down. "Get out of the way!" I shouted angrily. She ran away, crying.

    That night, when I lay in bed, my husband said to me, "You were so rude to Betty. Go and look around on the kitchen floor, and you'll find some flowers there. Betty brought those for you. She picked them herself, pink, yellow, and your favourite blue."

    When I heard this, I thought deeply, "While meeting with a stranger, I was calm and polite; but with my daughter, I was not patient (耐心的). I felt sad and tears began to fall.

    I quietly went to Betty's bed, "Wake up, my dear," I said, "Are these the flowers you picked for me?" She smiled, "I found them by the tree. I knew you'd like them, especially the blue. " I said, "I am so sorry that I treated (对待) you that way today. " And she whispered (悄声说), "Mommy, that's okay. I still love you anyway. " I kissed her and said, "I love you too and I do love the flowers. "

    That day Betty gave me a lesson on how to get along with each other in the family. I spent much time on work before and didn't realize how important family life was. I decided to do better in the future.

At first, the strong bear doesn't like him but finally he is touched by the young bear's kindness. So he helps the baby bear solve many problems like his fighting with a cougar(美洲狮).

    There aren't any talking animals, but the movie is funny for kids of most ages. However, we wouldn't call it a children's movie. From the exciting movie about the two bears, a cougar and the hunters, we can know that the true meaning about life is that "The greatest skill(技能) is not to kill but to let live".
