My name is Sally. I am a school girl. My school is far from my home. So I can't go to school by bike. I often go there by bus. I must get up very early every morning. I have no time for breakfast at home. I often eat something for breakfast on the way(在路上). I want to go to school on time(按时).

    A bus comes to the bus stop．An old man gets on it．There's no seat for him．"The boy will give his seat to you．"the bus driver says to the old man．But the boy in the seat doesn't stand up．The bus driver looks at the boy,then he says to the old man again in a high voice(声音)，"The boy will be happy to give you his seat．"This time the boy hears it．His face turns red．He gets up at once．The old man sits down and says to the boy,"Thank you,my boy．"

    Joe is my pen pal. He is 12 years old. He is from Australia. He lives in Sydney. He likes Chinese. He likes reading Chinese books. His favourite food is Chinese food, too.     Hans Christian Andersen （1805﹣1875）was the most famous writer in Denmark. His stories have attracted many young readers around the world.

Andersen's father was a poor shoe-maker. As he was very young, Hans was spoilt by his parents and his grandmother. But when he was 11years old, his father died and the boy had to leave school. His mother made a living by washing clothes, while Hans spent a great deal of time making theatre toys and puppets. He reads as many books as he could.

    Andersen published his first tale in 1835, and continued writing until he died. Andersen's words are simple and humor. The stories became popular in the early 1840's, and made Andersen famous more and more. Among the best known of his fairy tales are The Ugly Duckling, The Emperor's New Clothes, A Little Match Girl and so on.

    In this winter vacation, I am going to prepare for a Peking Opera competition. Last year, my clock was broken. I was late and missed the competition. That was a great pity. I hope I can win the first prize this year.

    I am also going to Xiamen to visit my grandparents. Xiamen is in the south of China. I am going to give my photos of the competition to them. I think they will be very happy. I am looking forward to seeing them.
