Making friends is a skill. Like most skills, you can improve it if you are patient. If you want to meet people and make friends, you must be willing to take action. You must first go where there are people. You won't make friends staying home {#blank#}1{#/blank#}.

    Joining a club or a group, talking to those who like the same things as you do is much {#blank#}2{#/blank#}. Or join someone in some activity.

    Many people are {#blank#}3{#/blank#} when talking to new people. After all, meeting strangers means seeing the unknown. And it's human nature to feel a bit unpleasant about the unknown. Most of fears about {#blank#}4{#/blank#} with new people come from doubts  about ourselves. We imagine other people are judging us—finding us too tall or too short, too this or too that. But don't forget that they must be feeling the {#blank#}5{#/blank#}way. Try to accept yourself as you are, and try to make others feel at home. You'll all feel more {#blank#}6{#/blank#}.

    Try to be brave even if you don't feel that way when you {#blank#}7{#/blank#} a room full of strangers. Walk tall and straight, look directly at other people and smile.

    If you see someone you'd like to speak to, say something. Don't wait for the other person to start a {#blank#}8{#/blank#}.

    Just meeting someone new does not mean that you'll make friends with that person. Friendship is based on mutual (相互的) likings and "give and take". It takes time and effort (精力)for us to {#blank#}9{#/blank#} friendship. And there are things that stop a new friendship from {#blank#}10{#/blank#}.

    Most of us probably don't like doing housework. And most of us think that {#blank#}1{#/blank#}(clean) the bathroom or cooking dinner for the family makes us tired. However, the fact is that someone has to do it. Most of the time, our parents have to do the housework. Is it {#blank#}2{#/blank#}(real) fair?

    Doing housework is really not as bad as it sounds. If we all do our part, it {#blank#}3{#/blank#} (seem) less annoying ( 烦人的). Why should your mother have to wash your dirty clothes? You are able to take care of yourself. Doing some housework will show that you are becoming more and more independent.

    Some of us may think that we are so busy that we can't do housework. But most parents work all day and are then expected{#blank#}4{#/blank#}(keep) a clean house! Dividing housework among the whole family will make everyone's job much {#blank#}5{#/blank#} (easy).

    Hello! I'm Liu Yan. I'm {#blank#}1{#/blank#} student in No.1 Middle School. My school isn't very big, {#blank#}2{#/blank#} very nice.

    Every morning, I get up {#blank#}3{#/blank#} 6:30. Then I go to school. We have four lessons in the morning {#blank#}4{#/blank#} three lessons in the afternoon. At school, we have many {#blank#}5{#/blank#} (subject) like English, Chinese, math, history, geography, art and P. E. I like math, because it's {#blank#}6{#/blank#} (interest) and not difficult. I like P. E., too. I think it's {#blank#}7{#/blank#} (relax). My home is far from(远离) school, so I usually have lunch with my {#blank#}8{#/blank#} (friend) at school.

    I like reading(阅读) and {#blank#}9{#/blank#} (sport). After school, sometimes I read books in the school library, and sometimes I {#blank#}10{#/blank#} (play) ping pong on the playground.
