Dear Dad and Mom,

    We have been in Australia for three days. We're having a good time here. Australia is the sixth {#blank#}1{#/blank#}（large） country in the world. There is so much to see{#blank#}2{#/blank#} it is impossible for me to tell you everything. We are now living in a hotel. It is located（坐落于……）in the centre of Sydney, and our room has a wonderful view of the city. There are{#blank#}3{#/blank#}（much） big trees and beautiful flowers all over the city and it is great pleasure staying here.{#blank#}4{#/blank#} most enjoyable thing is to watch koalas sleeping in the tree.

    We {#blank#}5{#/blank#}（visit） many places of interest around Sydney yesterday and the day before yesterday. I'd like to spend more time here, {#blank#}6{#/blank#} Linda and May can't wait to see the coral reefs（珊瑚礁） in Cairns, so we are going to {#blank#}7{#/blank#}（fly） there tomorrow. It is said that words cannot describe the beauty of the colourful corals. Now we are busy {#blank#}8{#/blank#}（prepare） for the next trip to Cairns so that we will not hurry when we leave. We can enjoy {#blank#}9{#/blank#}（us） in Cairns this time tomorrow. I'm looking forward{#blank#}10{#/blank#}visiting the attractions there!

    Yangshuo is a small county in Guangxi Province. It is 65 kilometres away from Guilin city centre. It is a world-famous place,  {#blank#}1{#/blank#}a history of about 1,400 years. Yangshuo is famous for{#blank#}2{#/blank#}(it) surprising karst(喀斯特地形) scenery. There're also beautiful mountains, caves and{#blank#}3{#/blank#} (temple) there. Local cafes and bars are also famous and it's{#blank#}4{#/blank#}(comfort) to stay there.

    The Lijiang River between Guilin {#blank#}5{#/blank#}Yangshuo is the most amazing. Tourists can try{#blank#}6{#/blank#}(hike) along the riverbank in Yangshuo and riding a bike back through the mountainous areas. There're many famous streets in Yangshuo. The one called West Street is {#blank#}7{#/blank#} oldest. Most of the buildings there {#blank#}8{#/blank#}(be) built in the Ming and Qing Dynasties. Most restaurant and shop workers on West Street can{#blank#}9{#/blank#}(speak) English.  Visitors can also try Western-style cooking when visiting Yangshuo.

    There're so many things for you in Yangshuo. So would you like {#blank#}10{#/blank#}(take) a trip there?

    Today is the {#blank#}1{#/blank#} day of the new term, I went to school early.

    When I came into the classroom, I was{#blank#}2{#/blank#}(surprise)at what I saw.{#blank#}3{#/blank#}was half an hour before class, most of the students were already sitting in their seats. Some were arranging their books. Others{#blank#}4{#/blank#}(prepare) for their lessons.

    Zhanghua, my neighbour, was busy{#blank#}5{#/blank#}(write) something. I walked over to him{#blank#}6{#/blank#}(quiet), and saw that he was writing a plan for the new term. He looked up,{#blank#}7{#/blank#}(smile)and said, "Let me wish you a belated(迟来的）happy New Year, and hope you'll make the greatest progress in the new term."

    {#blank#}8{#/blank#}(sudden), it hit me that the new year was over and{#blank#}9{#/blank#}(I)face turned red. I must turn over a new leaf. I would make{#blank#}10{#/blank#}new plan to meet the new term with spirit.
