World Pangolin(穿山甲) Day is on the third Saturday of February each year. This year, it fell{#blank#}1{#/blank#}Feb.18. It's a day{#blank#}2{#/blank#} (help) people know more about pangolins.

    Pangolins are animals that live in Africa and Asia. They have scales(鳞片) on their skin and eat ants.  Pangolins are important {#blank#}3{#/blank#} (animal) because they help to protect trees in forests.{#blank#}4{#/blank#}, pangolins are now endangered. According to the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN), more than 1 million pangolins have been killed or sold in the last 10 years. Last year, IUCN added the pangolin {#blank#}5{#/blank#} the world's "endangered animals list". Now pangolins are more endangered than pandas.

    The growing trade of their scales and meat is the main reason for their decline (下降) in number. Many people in Asia and Africa eat {#blank#}6{#/blank#}(they) meat, and some even use their scales to treat sick people.

    Luckily, this situation {#blank#}7{#/blank#} (get) better. The government now stops anyone from {#blank#}8{#/blank#} (buy) and eating pangolins in China. Breaking this law will be regarded {#blank#}9{#/blank#}a crime. The trade of pangolins across the world is also not allowed.

    "I hope more people will join us to protect pangolins from such a {#blank#}10{#/blank#}(sadly) situation," Zhou Canying told Xinhua News Agency. Zhou is head of the Wildlife Protection Association of Changsha, Hunan Province.

    Most of us probably don't like doing housework. And most of us think that {#blank#}1{#/blank#}(clean) the bathroom or cooking dinner for the family makes us tired. However, the fact is that someone has to do it. Most of the time, our parents have to do the housework. Is it {#blank#}2{#/blank#}(real) fair?

    Doing housework is really not as bad as it sounds. If we all do our part, it {#blank#}3{#/blank#} (seem) less annoying ( 烦人的). Why should your mother have to wash your dirty clothes? You are able to take care of yourself. Doing some housework will show that you are becoming more and more independent.

    Some of us may think that we are so busy that we can't do housework. But most parents work all day and are then expected{#blank#}4{#/blank#}(keep) a clean house! Dividing housework among the whole family will make everyone's job much {#blank#}5{#/blank#} (easy).

    I haven't {#blank#}1{#/blank#} (write) till now. I've been busy with the course and making new

friends {#blank#}2{#/blank#} (连词)I got here. I'm speaking English with classmates all the time and going out in the evenings with {#blank#}3{#/blank#} (they). We're a real mix of nationalities: Chinese, Russian, Italian, Spanish… We talk about all kinds of things {#blank#}4{#/blank#} (介词) English and I'm learning a lot about other languages and countries, too.

    My host family are very nice. The parents are very {#blank#}5{#/blank#} (friend) and kind. The children are both in primary school and they are very sweet. But they can be a bit annoying (恼人的)too. If we have to watch the film Frozen together one more time, I‛m going crazy! I know all the {#blank#}6{#/blank#} (song) by heart now!

    We live near the school. It's a short bus ride from Edinburgh city center. There is {#blank#}7{#/blank#} (冠词)ancient castle (城堡)and we're going there next week. Yesterday my Italian friend invited me to watch the free street shows. We {#blank#}8{#/blank#}(see) a magician doing card games—it was so much fun!
