Moon cakes are the {#blank#}1{#/blank#} (popular) food during the Mid-Autumn Festival. We can see different {#blank#}2{#/blank#} (kind) of moon cakes in stores and in the markets as the festival comes. But do you know that people living south of the Yangtze River {#blank#}3{#/blank#} (follow) the tradition of eating pumpkins(南瓜) during the festival? In ancient times, poor families chose to eat pumpkins during the Mid-Autumn Festival because they couldn't {#blank#}4{#/blank#} to buy moon cakes. The tradition has been passed down, and it's believed that eating pumpkins on the night of the Mid-Autumn Festival can bring people good {#blank#}5{#/blank#} (healthy). {#blank#}6{#/blank#} interesting story says that a very poor family, a couple with their daughter, lived at the foot of the South Mountain. The old couple were {#blank#}7{#/blank#} (serious) ill for lack of food. The daughter found a strange melon(瓜) one day {#blank#}8{#/blank#} she was working in the fields near the mountain. She brought the melon home and {#blank#}9{#/blank#} (cook) for her parents.

    Surprisingly, her parents recovered(恢复健康) {#blank#}10{#/blank#} eating the melon. Because the melon was picked near the South Mountain, it was named "south melon".

    Tammy was not happy. Her parents thought that she was too young for {#blank#}1{#/blank#} cell phone, no matter how much she begged." But Sun and Alicia have mobile phones!" Tammy cried," {#blank#}2{#/blank#} I don't get one, I won't be popular."

"Ugh", sighed Tammy.

    My mum says my head is too expensive, because all my operations（手术）have  {#blank#}1{#/blank#} （cost）millions of dollars. I am sick {#blank#}2{#/blank#} hydrocephalus. That means "water in the head". Water runs through the body like a river, but sometimes it won't leave my head. That water gives me bad headaches and lots of other problems. So,  {#blank#}3{#/blank#} （doctor）put a small tube（试管）in me to takeaway that water from my head.

    I stay in the hospital most of the time. Sometimes the doctors let me go out {#blank#}4{#/blank#} （play）. {#blank#}5{#/blank#} sometimes, if I play too much, my tube has problems, I have to go back to the house.

    My doctor, Dr Beck, is the greatest. He takes good care of me, and he's a lot of fun, too. My {#blank#}6{#/blank#} （ill）is hard to understand, but Dr Beck always takes time {#blank#}7{#/blank#} (teach）me about it by drawing pictures or telling stories.

    I draw cartoons for him, too, to make him laugh when he gets tired.

    When I grow up, I dream {#blank#}8{#/blank#} becoming a doctor so that I can take care of kids like me. I have been in the hospital a lot, and my mum is a nurse, so I have learned a lot by {#blank#}9{#/blank#} （watch）and asking questions.

    When I'm a doctor, I'll tell sick kids my story to make them feel {#blank#}10{#/blank#} （good）when they're afraid.
