Whenever the sun dropped and the blue sky came up, my father and I used to climb the mountain near my house. 1 together, my father and I used to have a lot of conversations through which I 2 lessons from his experiences. He always told me, "You should have goals like climbing the mountain." Without the mountains-climbing 3 we both enjoyed, we couldn't have enough time 4 together because my father was very busy. I 5 got a lot from mountain-climbing.

    Once we climbed a very 6 mountain. It was so challenging for me 7 I was only ten years old. During 8 first few hours of climbing, I enjoyed the flowers and trees, and the birds' singing, but as time 9, I got a pain in both of my legs, I wanted to give up 10. In fact, I hated it at the moment, but my father said to me, "You can always see a beautiful sky at the top of the 11, but you can't see it 12 you reach the top. Only there at the top, can you see all of the nice things, just like 13 life."

    At that time, I was too young to understand his words. But 14 after that, I get new hope and confidence. I found 15 standing at the top of the sky, which was as clear as crystal(水晶)

    Once upon a time，a rich man wanted to make a trip to another town. He tried not only to take things to sell but also to take money to1things with. He2to take ten servants（仆人）with him. They would3the things to sell and the food to 4on their trip. Before they started，a little boy ran up to5and asked to6with them.

    The rich man said to the little boy，“Well，7may go with us. 8you are the smallest，the thinnest and the weakest of all my9 ， you can't carry a10load（担子）. You must11the lightest one to carry. ”The boy thanked his master and chose the biggest load to carry. That was bread. "You are12." said his master, "That is the biggest and the heaviest one." The boy didn't say13and lifted the load gladly.

    On the trip they walked for days and at last they got to the town. All the servants were very tired14the little servant. Do you know15? Most of the bread was eaten during the trip and a little was left when they arrived at the town.

I was playing at the front gate, trying to decide whether to walk down the street to play with Jenny, when I saw a poor man coming up the road. 

"Hello, little girl, " he said, "is your mama at home?"

I nodded and opened the gate to let him get in the yard. He looked like all the homeless men who came to my home before. His messy hair hung below a shapeless hat, and his old shirt and trousers had been rained on and slept in. He smelled bad. 

He walked to the door. When my mother appeared, he asked, "Lady, could you spare something to eat?"

"I think so. Please sit on the step. "

Later, my mother came back and handed him a sandwich made from homemade bread and generous pieces of boiled meat. She also gave him a bottle of milk. "I thank you, lady, " he said. 

I played at the gate, watching the man wolf down the sandwich and empty the cup. After finishing the food, he stood up and walked back through the gate. "▲" he told me on the way out. 

Jenny had said all the homeless men told each other who would feed them. "They never come to my house!" she had said proudly and happily. 

"So why does Mama feed the poor man?" I wondered. I walked inside. "Jenny's mama says those men are too lazy to work. Why do we feed them?"

My mother smiled. "Sweetheart, we don't know why these men don't work, " she said, "but they were babies once. And their mamas loved them, just like I love you. " She put her hands on my shoulders and drew me close to her. 

"For me, I fed them for their mothers, because if you were ever hungry and had nothing to eat, I would want others' mothers to feed you. "

I seemed to find out the answer to my question and understand that. 

 This morning was not going well. After two hours' hard work, I was already falling behind. Sitting on the examination table was my next1 , a girl of five-year-old in a pretty pink dress. Her right hand was in a bowl of cleansing(清洁的) water with medicine,2 her large brown eyes had tears in them.

Standing beside her was a tall man. He turned to his daughter and began moving3 hands, seeming to communicate the words that he was whispering(低语) softly. "It's all right. The doctor is here."I realized that he was communicating through 4 .

"My daughter Sara is deaf," the father told me. The child had lost her hearing when she was six months old. I felt sadness. On the outside, Sara5 any other little girl. Yet, her world was now6 .

"We were on the way to Sara's dance class when she fell."

 "Dance class?" I asked,7 .

"Oh, yes!" the father laughed. "Sara dances to the music. She can 8 the music because music has vibrations(振动). You can feel them 9 you sit on a wooden floor listening to loud music."

I pointed to Sara' s hand. She held out her injured hand for me. There were some cuts, but 10 serious.

"It's okay," I said. I told her carefully and slowly that I would clean and cover the cuts. Sara 11 her head. She understood.

 As I gently cleaned her hand, I listened to the sounds 12 me. These were sounds that I had heard a thousand times but had 13 taken for granted(认为理所当然的). A door suddenly closed with a loud noise in the next room. It gave me a fright, but Sara continued to look 14 at her hand and at me.

 By the time I had cleaned and covered her hands, Sara's eyes were no longer teary but seemed to shine. Then she placed the tips of her right fingers against her mouth and flicked them forward. "That means15 ." Sara's father said.

"You' re welcome!" I replied. Thank you, Sara. I thought as I watched her leave. It was going to be a good day after all.
