Every child has a dream of what they want to be, right? When Rence Butts was little, her dream was to become a volunteer firewoman because her father was a fireman. Sadly, when she was fourteen, her father died(死)and she was never able to volunteer with him. Rence's story doesn't end there. She was strong and never gave up, at last she became a good firewoman.

    I think she's great. She's always glad to do anything for anyone in need. With 140 people in her station, Rence is one of the only three women. What's more, she is always glad to help others.

    What Rence did helps me believe that I can do anything. I hope someday to be just like her:

    To wake up and help people every day.

    Why here are thousands of people including lots of the old and the young, climbing the Fenghuang Mountain. Because there is a famous festival in Dazhou, which called Yuanjiu Mountain Climbing festival.(元九登高节) This festival is related with a poet as well as an official in Tang Dynasty. His name was Yuan Zhen and people called him Yuan Jiu later. In A. D. 815, Yuan Zhen did something wrong with his job, so he was sent to Tongzhou, which was a poor and remote place in ancient China. He didn't give   ❶  and made lots of projects to promote (促进) the economic development.   ❷   the leadership of him, Tongzhou changed a lot.①因此人们喜爱他. Because he did such an excellent job, he was transferred to Henan in A.D.818.The day when he left was the ninth day of the first lunar month. All the town people climbed onto the top of Cuiping Mountain in the South and the Fenghuang Mountain in the North to say goodbye to him. ② From then on, the custom and tradition of climbing hills on the day of "Yuanjiu" has been kept in Dazhou. To remember Yuan Zhen, all people in Dazhou go out in groups and climb hills on that day. People are looking forward to getting rid of the bad luck in the past year, hoping in the next year everything is going well. To show great respect for the public customs and opinions, every year our government plans a series of activities to promote the influence of Yuanjiu Mountain Climbing Festival. Nowadays, ③Dawhou, more, feeling, and, people, more, cultural charm (魅力), are, of, even the tourists and foreign friends are attracted to take part in such traditional activities. I take pride in Dazhou.

    It was Saturday again. Grace and Karen disliked, Saturdays. Unlike their classmates, they had to get up early at seven every Saturday to prepare for their lessons. Grace had to attend the drawing lesson and Karen had to attend her ballet lesson. "How I wish I could do something different today," said the twins with one voice. All at once, an idea came to Grace and Karen at the same time. "Do you want to be me for a day?" they asked each other. It seemed like a wonderful plan to them. After giving each other a description of their own friends, Grace put on Karen's ballet dress while Karen put Grace's brushes and paints into her bag. Then they left for their classes.

    When the drawing lesson started, Karen was lost. Unlike Grace, Karen was poor at drawing. When the drawing lesson finally ended, Karen didn't dare to hand in her work.

    Meanwhile, Grace was struggling in the ballet class as well. As she had no idea about the dance steps, she had to follow her classmates blindly. As a result, she kept knocking into them. Their ballet teacher became impatient with her, "Karen, you should remember the basic steps. You can't rely on copying what others are doing."

    When Karen and Grace got home, they were tired out. They decided that they would never try to be someone else they were not. It seemed that the grass was not always greener on the other side.
