President Xi Jinping hosted the opening ceremony of the HongKong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge( HZMB) in Zhuhai, Guangdong Province on October 23rd. The 55-kilometer Y-shaped bridge in the Lingdingyang waters is the world's longest sea-spanning(跨海的) bridge. It connects Hong Kong, Zhuhai, and Macao. It is the result of five years of research and another nine years of building. The main bridge used about 420,000 tons of steel (铁). The total cost of HZMB is about 120 billion yuan.
The bridge can be used for 120 years. The speed limit(限速)is 100 km/h on the main bridge. The travel time from Hong Kong to Zhuhai was about 4 hours by road or about 1 hour by sea in the past, but now it only takes you about 40 minutes. One-way shuttle bus trip costs 58 yuan and the shuttle bus provides 24-hours service. Besides, the bus runs every 5 minutes during rush hour. Passengers can also travel in private cars and taxis. The one-way cost for private cars is 150 yuan.
The bridge is not only a transport connection, but also a social, economic, cultural and tourism connection among the three areas.

If you think you are too shy and want to be a little bit braver(勇敢的), just try the following things:
Be open to others. Tell people you are shy. There is no need to hide(掩盖) it. When they get to know you are a shy kid, they will understand you better. This also helps you feel more comfortable i n talks.
Try to smile more. When you smile, people think you are friendly and easy to talk with. Remember that other people have feelings, too; and most people will stay away from an angry-looking face.
Learn to be a good talker. If you find it hard to start a conversation, say something nice about people around you. Think about how great you feel when someone says something nice to you. Doesn't it make you want to keep talking to that person?
Get your attention elsewhere. Think more about ways to enjoy parties or games. Don't waste time worrying about your look or whether(是否) people like you or not. You will become relaxed and find it's not so ha rd to talk with others.
Take one small step at a time. Each time when you say “Hi!” or smile at someone, say to yourself "You can make it." Keep trying and one day you'll never feel shy when you talk to others.

A good book can be satisfying, can improve your knowledge and can teach you a lot. There are several ways to develop a lifetime reading habit.
Set times. You should have a few set times every day when you'll read for at least 5—10 minutes, no matter what happens. For example, make it a habit to read during breakfast and lunch (and even dinner if you eat alone).
Always carry a book. No matter where you go, take a book with you. When you leave the house, make sure to have at least one book. You may keep the book in the car, or into the office or to anywhere you go, unless you' re sure you won't have time to read.
Make a list. Keep a list of all the great books you want to read. You can keep this in a pocket notebook. Be sure to add to it whenever you hear about a good book. Keep a running list, and cross out the ones you have read.
Find a quiet place. Find a place in your home where you can sit in a comfortable chair without television or computer near the chair. There should be no music or noisy family members.
Set a high aim. For example. Tell yourself that you want to read 50 books this year. Your best to finish reading them. Just be sure you're still enjoying the reading.
