I want to tell you something about my weekend. 1 Saturday morning, I usually get up very early. It is about 8:00 a.m. I often run with my father around my apartment (公寓). After I 2 my breakfast, I often go shopping with my mother. The shopping centre is far from our home, 3 we go there by bus. We spend about 20 minutes 4 there. The shopping centre has a 5 name. It is called Louis Mall. It doesn't have 6 Chinese name.

There are many things there, such as food, meat, clothes, shoes and so on. There 7 lots of people every day. Do you know 8 so many people come here to buy things? Let 9 tell you. The 10 there always smile. How kind they are! If you come to my home, I can take you there and have a look.

American boy Rain Price is a student. His dad waved(挥手) him off to school from the bus stop outside his house for half a year. That doesn't sound special, but this was not a/ an 1 goodbye because each day Rain's dad said goodbye wearing the costume(戏服)!

It all started on 13- year- old Rain's first day at middle school. Like many 2 Rochelle and Dale, Rain's mum and dad, sent him to school 3 a big wave. The next morning when Rain got onto the 4 outside his house, he could hear his school friends 5 something. He turned around and to his surprise, his dad dressed up as a football player. Rain felt embarrassed(尴尬的).

For the next 180 school 6 , Dale waved goodbye to his son dressed in a 7 costume. One day he was a king waving his sword, the next a 8 with a violin, the following a superman. Dale even got other family to 9 him. Rain's younger 10 played Batman and he thought Rain would like it. Each day Rochelle took a photo of 11 and put it on the blog to let more people know. That made the family became very 12 . So Rain 13 saw the funny side and thought his dad was cool, not embarrassing.

14 all good things must come to an end. On the last day of school, Dale dressed up as  a teacher and stood next to a sign reading" It's been fun waving at the bus. Have a great summer". He has 15 plans to wave Rain off to school next year. He wants to get a little more sleep each morning.

Mr. Han was a teacher of English. There was a large international gym near his home. On a sunny Saturday afternoon Mr. Han was taking his two little boys to play tennis in the gym. He walked up to the American man at the ticket box and asked, "How much is it to get in?"

"Nine yuan for you and nine yuan for any child over six years old," the American man answered. "We will let them in for free if they are six or younger. How old are they?"

Mr. Han said, "The younger one is three and the other one is seven, so I think I should give you eighteen yuan."

The American man said with a surprised look on his face, "Hey, did you win the lottery （彩票）or something? You need to give me only nine yuan if you tell me the older one is six. You see, I don't check your ID cards （身份证） today. And the man at the ticket gate won't either（也不）. In fact, it is difficult for anyone to tell the difference between kids of six and seven."

"Yes, that may be true, but the children would know the difference." Mr. Han said. "And that is the most important thing."

I am Ashraf from Cairo, Egypt. Last summer, my cousin Sami came to Cairo for the first time. He is 28 and he lives in London. He is an architect(建筑师) and he was visiting Cairo for his job. 

 On the morning of his last day here, we went to Khan el-Khalili, It is a big market in the centre of Cairo. Hundreds of people come to the market every day. It is quieter in the morning than in the afternoon when lots of tourists visit it. 

 My dad is a taxi driver. He gave us a ride to the market. On the way, we saw many buildings. Sami liked them a lot. He said, "I like the buildings in London, but Cairo's buildings are more interesting. And the people here are friendly, too. But the streets are busier and noisier than those in London!"

 The things in the market are not too expensive. Sami bought a dress for his daughter and a toy violin for his son. We had lunch at a coffee house and Sami admired the food. He said it was both beautiful and tasty. While we were eating, we enjoyed some wonderful Egyptian music. A band was playing the violin and the drums. We also took a lot of photos. 

 Finally, it was time for Sami to go home. "Thank you for showing me around this beautiful city, " Sami said. "One day, I want to show you around my city!"

In Jan. 2023, a heavy snow hit Central Indiana. Many stories touched {#blank#}1{#/blank#}(I)in the heavy snow. 

In Fortville, Aiden Hill spent the day {#blank#}2{#/blank#}(help)to clean his neighbors' driveways. Last year, a neighbor {#blank#}3{#/blank#}(give)him a snowblower(吹雪机). The machine helped him clean {#blank#}4{#/blank#}(many)driveways than before. 

"I try to give {#blank#}5{#/blank#}helping hand to everyone, " Hill said. "It's important to clean the roads {#blank#}6{#/blank#} people have to go to other places to do something. "

Hill isn't the only one making a {#blank#}7{#/blank#}(different)to neighbors' life. On the south side of Indianapolis. William Beatty was also doing the same thing {#blank#}8{#/blank#}him during the heavy snow. 

"The things we are doing are small. We just try to make {#blank#}9{#/blank#}(everyone)day a little bit easier, " Beatty said. "If I were getting up for work on a truly cold {#blank#}10{#/blank#}(snow)day, I would hope someone could help me out, clean my way and make my day. "
