Some people live to climb the highest mountains. Some people live only dreaming about it while others live to avoid ever climbing at all. But one thing is certain — all people meet mountains in their life. 

When I was a little girl, my family moved to a tiny town at the bottom of a big mountain. One day after school, while exploring the green woods of this amazing mountain, I almost fell on a set of stairs. What could these steps lead to? Curiosity got the best of me as I knew it would be starting to get dark soon. I started climbing up those strangely mysterious (神秘的) steps. I climbed and climbed. There was nothing but just green bushes and these steps. I had to reach the top. But it was now getting real dark. If I kept going I might not be able to see my way back. My mom would be worried sick if I didn't come home soon. So I ran back home almost in the dark while trying not to get too scared.

Anxiously I went to bed dreaming about what I would find at the top of this magical mountain. Could there be a castle up there? Maybe I would find a monster (怪物) . Maybe I was taking the risk of never coming back home. Or, maybe all I would find was absolutely nothing! But something inside me was going to climb that mountain at all cost. I could hardly wait to try this adventure again. 

Now we live in a world surrounded by the "can't do" attitudes. We all fall down. We all have doubts and regrets. Still we must climb and dream about what's at the top of our mountain. Monsters may appear or the night will fall. But never ever give up on your dream! Never let anyone tell you, "You can't." Dream big and climb high!

Every weekend my parents give me $100. I bet you think I'm really spoiled (宠坏的). Think again!

It all started when I wanted a really cool 1 . I asked my parents to buy it for me but they said I would have to buy with my own money. "But it's only $100!" I 2 . An hour later, my parents 3 there would be a family meeting at dinner.

They 4 the meeting with the words, "We've been thinking about how to give you more 5 in our family." They brought up several "new ways" I could "have more say." One way was to allow me to 6 for the family. Each Saturday, I was to be given $100 — along with a shopping 7 . It was up to me to buy everything on it. Whatever money was 8 , whether two dollars or thirty, was mine and I could 9 however I wanted — whether to buy toys, books, jackets, or even a bicycle. My parents' $100-a-week plan gives me real 10 to shop for the best bargains (特价商品). I 11 prices on every single item on my list before I 12 what to put in my basket.

My parents' clever plan has turned me into a 13 shopper. Now, when I finally save enough money, that cool bicycle doesn't just 14 a mere purchase; it stands as a symbol of my 15 success.

We have met, but just not in person.I work in the bank and I usually do my work over the phone and computer.This lady is a borrower of my bank，one of the people I serve.We have had several conversations about her borrowings.She is neither a woman that is of my mother's age, nor a grand－motherly type of client (客户), because men or women of that age are always very loving and they remind me what I should do.This woman is of my age.

We have never met in person.She lives in New Jersey and I live in California.Her borrowings turned out great, and I didn't worry even a little bit.To be honest, I think I just worked normally to finish my service.But every couple of months, she would email me a little note, telling me how I made a difference to her life, and how thankful she was for what I had done.I never expected that.

I have a busy and stressful job.Every day, I meet many people and I offer the same service to them.I also keep a working relationship with many.No one has done that for me.I don't think I have done something different or helped her much.She just used her time and the most shining part in her heart to send me emails.I saw the beauty inside her.

Everyone can be tired and lonely right now.The same is true of the woman.Take a moment in your day to do one little nice thing for somebody，even if it's for someone you do not know.You can make a little difference to their life and also to yours.It feels good to say I feel a little love today and that I find myself showing it to somebody else.

Juleus Ghunta is a published children's author and award-winning poet. But when young, he could 1 read.

He grew up with his three sisters in rural Western Jamaica, raised by their single mother. Life was tough, and proper schooling was out of the question due to 2 resources.

When Ghunta finally went to school, he couldn't 3 on reading. Not only had he been kept home from school as a child, but he had not been 4 to books.

By sixth grade, he could spell his name, but still couldn't make out words or read with 5 . He struggled in school with a deep sense of 6 and worthlessness.

At age 12, a young teacher-in-training 7 a special reading program for 8 students. Ghunta was the first to join. That teacher, whose name he does not 9 now, became Ghunta's unsung hero — the person who changed his life.

The teacher was incredibly kind to him. Under her guidance, Ghunta's reading skills saw marked improvement, and his sense of inadequacy began to 10 .

"She had left me with the gift of literacy," he said. "And a deeper 11 of my talent."

After Ghunta's experience with the teacher, his life course 12 . He graduated with academic 13 and is now the author of two children's books, including "Rohan Bullkin and the Shadows."

Years later, Ghunta returned to his old school and asked the principal and teachers if they knew her 14 , but none did. Carrying this memory, however, he still hopes to find and thank her for seeing his 15 and being a source of light and hope in his life.

I suffered my brain injury from a car accident. I was rear-ended(追尾) twice 1 , which caused my head to hit the headrest each time I was hit. I had received news over time from my doctor, which was mentally and emotionally 2 for any 18-year-old to accept. I was 3 , and did not know what this meant for me and my future. Throughout the journey, I tried to 4 why I didn't feel like myself two years after the accident and recognized things I never had 5 with before, such as being unable to remember pretty much anything. My 6 had increased and I did go through days of depression. I wanted to be a 7 but I felt as though that dream would never be reached.

       Sitting in bed feeling 8 , I tried to focus on why I wanted to be a lawyer. I 9 myself that I was the only one holding myself back from making that 10 a reality. Thinking of this, I pulled myself together and have been fighting for my dream ever since. And I am 11 with my bachelor's degree in criminal justice and two pre-law certificates in 3 years at Florida International University.

12 I have to work ten times harder than I would have if I hadn't had this 13 , I wouldn't take it back. I am 14 now due to the things that have happened to me. Nothing is impossible, but it is how you take on a(an) 15 that will get you to where you want to be.

In 2014, Amy collapsed from a brain hemorrhage (脑溢血) while working. After a year recovering at home, she 1 a course with the ambition to become a 2 .

However, occasional vision disturbance was still 3 , influencing the amount of 4 she could give to the course. Further complications (并发症) left the young artist almost completely blind, making it difficult to see a whole figure. It's particularly 5 because it seemed to 6 her optimism to be a painter! 

One morning, when watching the sunrise, she suddenly felt a sense of 7 . She realized that she may not 8 a whole face anymore, but it shouldn't stop her from putting what she could see on canvas (画布). The following years, she 9 her special art journey.

"Strangely, my experience has increased my 10 when drawing, enabling me to catch a character better," she explains. "People often speak highly of the detail and sensitivity of the character. I have more determination and appreciation for my 11 . These are 12 I wouldn't have had without everything I've 13 ." For her new touring exhibition, she has produced a series of artworks based on her visual experience. "In the 14 interaction between what I can and cannot see lies my perspective on the world."
