Garbage collector Jose Gutierrez is 53 years old. When he was young his family was too poor to keep him in school. Jose left school when he was in Grade Two, but that did not stop him having a love for reading.

    Jose said he got the love of reading from his mother. “She read me stories every night,” said Jose. He hopes that every poor child in his city can have books to read. Jose started saving books from garbage twenty years ago. Every day he drives the garbage truck through the city's rich neighborhoods to get old books. Now there are about 20,000 books in Jose's small house. It is already a famous library.

    Books are rare things for children in poor neighborhoods. New books are too expensive. There are nineteen libraries in Bogota, the city where Jose lives, but they are all far from poor neighborhoods.

    World famous physicist(物理学家) Stephen Hawking died peacefully at his home in Cambridge on March 14th, 2018.

    Hawking was born in Oxford, England on January 8th, 1942. He went to school in a small city near London. As he himself admitted, he wasn't very serious about studying. He did very little work, he was never top of his class. However, he still achieved good marks. After leaving school, Hawking first went to Oxford University to study physics. Then he went to Cambridge University to study cosmology(宇宙学).

    At the age of 21, Hawking noticed something wrong with him. He had a bad illness that stopped him from moving and talking. He couldn't communicate except by blinking(眨眼). He sat on a wheelchair with a computer by his side. To communicate with others, he moved two fingers to control the computer's mouse.     Last summer I spent some time off with my mother in Beidaihe. We stayed there from July 15th to August 5th. It is really a wonderful place. It is one of the most famous summer resorts（避暑胜地）in China. The buildings there are tidy, with some trees and flowers around therm. It is famous for its beaches, so lots of tourists from all over the world go there every year.

    There are many interesting places, such as the Olympic Park, the Geziwo Park and the Tiger Rock Park. In the Olympic Park. there are some athletes' statucs（运动员的雕像）and champions' fingerprints and footprints. Everything in the park is about Olympics. The Geziwo Park becomes famous because it is one of the best places to watch the sunset（落日）. Thousands of people go to watch the sunset every day. People can also see different kinds of birds.
