Two good friends, Peter and Linda, are making arrangements over the telephone to meet at the weekend.

    Joe Smith is a player in a football team．Several{#blank#}1{#/blank#}ago，he and his family were taking a holiday in a small town．One rainy afternoon，it was {#blank#}2{#/blank#}for them to play outdoors，so the family decided to go to the cinema．Joe，his wife(妻子)and {#blank#}3{#/blank#}children drove down to the town's cinema．They bought four{#blank#}4{#/blank#}and then went into the hall．The lights were still on(亮着)，and there were just{#blank#}5{#/blank#}other people there．When Joe walked in．some of them saw him and{#blank#}6{#/blank#}lapping(鼓掌)．Joe gave them a smile and turned to his wife，"Ah，what a warm welcome!I can't believe they know me here．"he said．"I{#blank#}7{#/blank#}they've seen my games on TV"When they sat down．a young man turned around to shake hands with Joe．"I just can't believe you know{#blank#}8{#/blank#}I am，"Joe said．The man {#blank#}9{#/blank#}puzzled(困惑的)．"All I know'"said the man,"is that they said they would not show the film {#blank#}10{#/blank#}at least ten people had bought tickets．"

    Billy's favorite color was orange. But he couldn't see what orange looked like.

    A month after he was born, his mother found that his eyes weren't as {#blank#}1{#/blank#} as other babies'. "He is blind (瞎的)." The doctor said. Even so, with the hope to help Billy learn about the world around {#blank#}2{#/blank#}, his mother kept describing everything she saw for him.

Mother and I are {#blank#}3{#/blank#} to cook most of the food for the party, and my father is getting the drinks. The living room looks very pretty.     In the dining room we have{#blank#}6{#/blank#} out the best plates and glasses and tablecloths, and they all look {#blank#}7{#/blank#}. We are going to have soup, fish, chicken, fruit and cheese. We are going to dance {#blank#}8{#/blank#} midnight, and after that, we will have more food, because we will be hungry after all that dancing.

    Last year my mother {#blank#}9{#/blank#} her birthday party in a restaurant, but it is pleasanter{#blank#}10{#/blank#} and at home. When it is my birthday, I am going to invite my friends and have a party in the garden. I will hang pretty lights in the trees and we will enjoy our food in the garden and dance on the grass.

    There are two thousand and two {#blank#}1{#/blank#} students at Haiding Middle School. Every day they go to school in different ways. Some students {#blank#}2{#/blank#} far from the school. Every morning they {#blank#}3{#/blank#} about an hour to get to school, so they must {#blank#}4{#/blank#} buses. Some students live near the school. They often walk to school. They think walking is good {#blank#}5{#/blank#} their health. About one hundred students ride their {#blank#}6{#/blank#} to school because they like {#blank#}7{#/blank#}bikes very much and their homes are not very far from the school. No one goes to school {#blank#}8{#/blank#} car. How about the teachers? Well, some teachers always {#blank#}9{#/blank#} to school because they live about ten {#blank#}10{#/blank#} from school. Some teachers live near the school, so they just get to school on foot.
