Most English people have four meals(餐饭)a day .They are breakfast, lunch, afternoon tea and dinner. People usually have breakfast at any time from seven to nine in the morning. They'd like to have eggs，bread and milk. English people drink tea or coffee for breakfast. Lunch comes at 1:00pm.Afternoon tea is from four to five in the afternoon and the dinner is about half past seven. First they have soup(汤),then they have meat or fish with vegetables. After that they eat some other things such as bananas, apples and oranges. But not all English people eat like that. Some of them have their dinner in the middle of the day. Their meals are breakfast, dinner, afternoon tea and supper and all these meals are very necessary(必要的).

    Mr. Johns went into his teashop again one morning, and sat in one of his seats at the counter. Many other people also came in, but most of them did not stay long.  After fifteen minutes, a young man and a young woman came in. There were only two empty seats at the counter, one is on Mr. Johns' left, and the other is on his right. The young man sat on one, and the young woman on the other, but Mr. Johns immediately asked to change places with him so that the man and the woman could be together.

    “Oh, that isn't necessary,” the young woman said, but Mr. Johns insisted. When the young man and the young woman were side by side, the young man said to her, “Well, this kind old man wanted us to sit together, so may I introduce myself? My name is Jack. What's yours?”

    “Early to bed, early to rise（起身）makes people healthy, wealthy and wise（健康，富有，聪明）.” This is an old English saying. Children should have ten hours' sleep every night, or they can't do their work very well. They will not be wise. The body needs exercise. Walking, running, swimming and playing ball games are all exercise. Exercise keeps the body strong.
