Mr. Shute lives in a village. He has got a big family and a strong dog. His farm is small{#blank#}1{#/blank#} he is often free in winter. So he goes to a city and finds work there.
    Once he stayed in a city for two {#blank#}2{#/blank#}  . When New Year was coming, he went back home to see his wife and his children. On his way home, something was {#blank#}3{#/blank#}  with his eyes. When he knocked on the door, his dog {#blank#}4{#/blank#}  out and was not friendly to him. His wife hurried to drive it away. The next morning he went to see a doctor. The doctor looked over his eyes {#blank#}5{#/blank#} and gave him some {#blank#}6{#/blank#} . Before he left, he told the doctor about his dog. When he heard this, the doctor began to laugh and said, “Maybe something is wrong with your dog's eyes, too.”
    When Mr. Shute got home, he told his wife about it. The woman said, “I'm afraid it's true. If a thief comes into our house, it won't see him and he'll steal {#blank#}7{#/blank#}here.”
    Mr. Shute thought his wife was right. He then made his dog {#blank#}8{#/blank#} his medicine instead.

    There are many shops near my home．Every day,a lot of people go there to buy fruit and vegetables．My parents also{#blank#}1{#/blank#}there and they usually  {#blank#}2{#/blank#} my favourite vegetables．Today, they are going   {#blank#}3{#/blank#} buy oranges．

    There is a small garden next these shops. People usually exercise there in the morning or after dinner．And an old man often {#blank#}4{#/blank#}litter there．Who is he? {#blank#}5{#/blank#}is he from? No one knows．

    A wise man was visiting a village with his students He found a group of family members {#blank#}1{#/blank#} in anger at each other He turned to his students and asked," Why do people shout in anger at each other?"

    His students {#blank#}2{#/blank#}for a while, and one of them said, "Because when we lose our calm, we shout."

     "But, why should you shout when the other person is just {#blank#}3{#/blank#}you? You can just as well tell him what you have to say in a soft manner. "

    Students gave some other{#blank#}4{#/blank#}but none were any good.

   " When two people are angry at each other, their hearts became distanced(疏远的), " the wise man explained. "To cover the distance they must shout to be able to hear each other. The angrier they are the {#blank#}5{#/blank#}they will have to shout to hear each other."

    "What {#blank#}6{#/blank#}when two people fall in love? They don't shout at each other but talk {#blank#}7{#/blank#}because their hearts are very close." The wise man said.

    He looked at his students and said, "So when you argue, do not let your hearts {#blank#}8{#/blank#} distant. Stop {#blank#}9{#/blank#}words that distance you from others. Otherwise, there will come a day when the distance is {#blank#}10{#/blank#}great that you will not find the way back."
