The Abbey Road pedestrian crossing in Northern London is one of the world's most famous {#blank#}1{#/blank#} it is on the cover of Beatles album. Now, the British government {#blank#}2{#/blank#}(put) it on the list of national heritage sites.

    Around the world people play numerous different ball games. It is not certain how a lot of these games were created, but we do know the history of one of {#blank#}1{#/blank#}.

    Basketball started in the United States, {#blank#}2{#/blank#} it was created by a Canadian, James Naismith, in 1891. While teaching P.E. at Springfield College in Massachusetts, Naismith got the idea for the game. During the winter, students could rarely exercise outdoors. Seeing this, Naismith got two large baskets and {#blank#}3{#/blank#} (hang) them on opposite walls of the school gym, about three meters above the floor. He divided students {#blank#}4{#/blank#} two teams. The object of the game was to throw a ball into the basket. Players soon got tired of taking the ball out of the baskets, so Naismith cut holes in the bottoms of them. Many people liked the game and, in 1936, basketball became {#blank#}5{#/blank#} Olympic sport.

    Happiness can {#blank#}1{#/blank#}(describe) as a positive mood and a pleasant state of mind. There are many factors contributing to happiness.

A person {#blank#}2{#/blank#} an obviously ideal situation is not necessarily happy. The ideal situation may have little to do with his actual feelings.

A good education and income are usually considered necessary for happiness. Though both may contribute, {#blank#}3{#/blank#} are only chief factors if the person is {#blank#}4{#/blank#}(serious) undereducated or actually suffering from lack of physical needs.

    The rich {#blank#}5{#/blank#}(be) not likely to be happier than the middle-income group or even those with very low incomes. People with college educations are somewhat happier than those who did not graduate from high school, and it is believed that this is mainly {#blank#}6{#/blank#} they have more opportunity to control their {#blank#}7{#/blank#}(life). Yet people with a high income and a college education may be {#blank#}8{#/blank#}(little) happy than those with the same income and no college education.

    Poor health does not rule out happiness except for the severely {#blank#}9{#/blank#}(disable) or those in pain. Learning {#blank#}10{#/blank#}(cope) with a health problem can contribute to happiness.
