Around the world people have different traditions and (风俗) when it comes to dining. It's important to respect(尊重) these customs.

    Not all countries (期望) you to leave a tip after a meal. In fact, in Japan it is seen as (不礼貌的). Employees in some Chinese restaurants are even not (允许) to get tips. However, other countries (像) France and Italy usually have a service charge.

    In Japan and China, you should (从不) stick chopsticks into rice. In India, utensils aren't always (提供). You should eat a meal with your (右边的) hand, as the left is considered dirty. Thai restaurants will often provide customers with a fork and spoon- they use the fork to push food onto the spoon rather than (而不是) eating (直接地) from it.

    People in many Western countries will never make a noise (在……期间) a meal, but in some places making a noise is a sign of appreciation(欣赏). In Japan, slurping soup and noodles straight from the bowl shows that you are enjoying your meal.
