The White House is an important historical building in the USA. It lies1the country's capital. Many people expect to see the palace with their own eyes.

    We spent six months getting tickets to visit the White House. I was2with excitement while we were waiting in the White House South Lawns. The first thing3 interested me was the colorful flowers and green grass.

    Everything inside and outside was4kept in the white House. We went through many security checks(安检) 5entering the building. In the east hallway on the first floor, I saw the pictures of past presidents on the walls. The6had over 2700 books. The Vermeil Room and China Room showed different collections.

    We walked upstairs to the State Floor. The East Room, the7in the White House, was the most wonderful in its size and furniture. This is the room where the president usually8the reporters. The Green, Blue and Red Rooms on the same floor got their names because of the9 of the furniture and walls. These rooms are 10 having parties for state guests.

    Every year several thousand people die in the car accidents in Great Britain, and more than one hundred thousand people are hurt.

    There are rules to make roads safe, but people do not always obey(遵守) the rules. They are careless. If everybody obeys the rules, the roads will be much safer. How can we make roads safer?

    Remember this rule. In Great Britain traffic keeps to the left. Cars, buses and bikes must keep to the left side of the road. In most other countries traffic keeps to the right.

    Before crossing the road, stop and look at both sides. Look right and left. Then, if you are sure that the road is clear, it is safe to cross the road. If you see small children or very old people, help them to cross the road. We must teach our children to cross the road safely. We must always be a good example. Small children must not play in the street.

    Eating in Western restaurants is a little different from1in a Chinese one. When you first arrive at a Western restaurant, you should wait for the waiter2show you to a table. People usually order3own food or dishes and eat what they order. Western people don't put all of the foot in the middle of the table and share the food together.

    One of the biggest4between Chinese restaurants and Western restaurants is the noise. Most Western restaurants are5and people speak in low voices. When you are eating in a Western restaurant, you can never shout to the waiters,6people may think that you are an impolite person.

    When you eat in a Western restaurant, you must use a knife and fork, You must try not to make noise with your fork, spoon or glass. If you have to make a noise7sneeze, you should cover your nose to8other people from noticing it.

    If you need some service, you should try to ask with your eyes but not your voice. You'd better not put up your hands or wave them to the waiter,9.

   At the end of the meal , when the bill comes, most people like to divide the bill equally(平等地). This is called "Go Dutch" (AA制).10the service and food are good, you should  leave a tip(小费).
