On Christmas Day, Mike gets up at six twenty. He quickly puts on the clothes and looks for his present in the stocking. "Wow, what a lovely toy dog! I like it very much." he says happily. But his little brother says," it's for me. My present." Then he runs down to the ground floor to see what's in the box. He shakes（摇） the box and listens. His sister, Nancy comes to him," Oh, Mike, you are taking my present." "What? Open it and have a look!" Then they open the box and a pretty dress is in it. Mike looks around, and he sees a box for him under the tree.

During the holidays, Amy and Tim want to do some cooking at home. They love chocolate cake very much.

Amy: Let's make a chocolate cake!

Tim: Good idea. Then what do we need?

Amy: We need a lot of chocolate, some milk, and flour, and…

Amy: Yes, please. Do we need a big bowl?

Amy: I want to put three eggs, some sugar, some chocolate, much flour and cream into the bowl.

Tim: Can I mix them?

Amy: OK. But don't play with the flour.

Tim: I know. Now I want to put the batter (面糊) into a pan (平底锅). Is the oven hot?

Amy: Oh, very hot.

Tim: Well, let's put the pan into the oven, and bake it.

Amy: OK.

Bill: 8 years old, foot hurts

Ben: 10 years old, leg hurts

Lily: 9 years old, ear hurts

Jane: 10 years old, arm hurts

    Anna has two cats. One is very big and the other is very small. She likes them very much. One day, Yangyang, a friend of her, comes to see her. She sees two holes (洞) in the door, a large one and small one. She says to Anna, "My dear friend, why are there two holes in your door?"

    "Let the cats in and out," Anna answers.

    "But why are there two holes? Isn't one hole enough (足够)?" asks her friend.

    "How can the big cat go through the small hole?" she says.

    Mr and Mrs White have three daughters. They are Alice, Kitty and Rose. Rose is the youngest of the three daughters. She is two years younger than Alice. Alice is thirteen. She and Kitty are twins. They are all pretty and lovely. They study in the same school. Their parents are both doctors, but they don't work in the same hospital. They love their daughters very much.

    Mr White likes music very much. He always listens to music when he drives the car. And he likes reading books, too. After dinner he helps the children with their studies, and then he goes into the study to read books. He goes to bed very late. Father's Day is coming. What presents do the children give to their father? The youngest sister wants to buy a watch for her father, but she doesn't have enough money. She buys a book as a Father's Day gift. And the twin sisters buy some CDs for their father. Mr White is very happy when he gets these presents.

    On summer holiday I am in the forest by myself (我自己), I go down to fish in the river. Soon get a big fish. Then I hear a great noise. There, right behind me, sits a big black bear! Wild animals are afraid of any quick move. So I move very slowly. The bear watches me. But he sits still. I take the fish and throw it to him. He eats it at once.

    Now what am I going to do? I'd better go on fishing, I think. The bear thinks so, too. Soon I gets another fish. I go over to him and put the fish into his big red mouth. I fish and fish—all for him. At first I am afraid to stop. Then I begin to like doing it. He is so friendly.

    When evening comes, the bear stands up and turns away (转身离开) from me. I can take some fish for my dinner.
