Recently, there was a report about a special app called "notOK".A 13-year-old girl Hannah Lucas and her brother Charlie put their heads together to create this app last year.

Hannah has been suffering from an illness that causes her to pass out since she was little. This is very dangerous if there is no one around. She was also being bullied(欺凌)by some students at school. So she searched for an app that would allow her to press a button so that a friend or a family member would know immediately that she needed help. After realizing there was no such thing,Hannah and her brother decided to do something about it.After some research,Hannah made some early drawings of what the app might look like. Then, after taking a programming class,Charlie began to think about the best way for the app to work.

They wanted something that would send a text message to up to five contacts that reads:"Hey,I'm not OK.Please call me,text me,or come and find me",along with a link to the user's current GPS location.

They started looking for someone to help them make the app.And when Hannah shared her dream with people in a summer business class which she attended two years ago, they were really excited about the app. They thought of many different marketing ideas.By mid—December last year, "notOK" app was finished as a birthday present for Hannah from Charlie."It was exactly what we wanted,"Charlie said.

In today's age, most people will agree that apps like these are great.Whether you're suffering from illness,or anything emergent(紧急的),writing a text message or making a phone call to get the help you need can be difficult.

Hannah is happy to know that her app will help more people."It's like I went through my dark times so I could help people through theirs,"she said.

Sara walked slowly home from school kicking stones along the sidewalk and thinking about the assignment(作业). Mrs. Peters, her teacher, gave the 1 in class right before school finished so that students could think about the assignment over the weekend. "This assignment will be a 2 one!" she said. "Each of you will find something that you are good at and write a report for the class. I'm sure you'll be happy to do it!"

As she had expected, students immediately began to talk about all the ideas that they had for the report 3 in class. Sara's best friend, Betsy, loved to play the piano and was already a skilled pianist. Tom was the captain of the school team and would write his report about basketball. Everyone seemed to have an idea for the project except Sara.

"It's impossible for me to choose 4 ," thought Sara, as she walked in through her front door—remembering her basketball for the wrong team and her strong dislike of running! She loved to sing and dance, but she did it only for fun with her friends. As for art, she believed that her paintings were about the same quality as her little sister who was five. Sara 5 what in the world she would write her paper about.

The minute Sara walked through the door, her sister came running towards her to give Sara her daily after-school hug! Suddenly, Sara 6 the happy moments with her sister. Every day, Sara tried to think of something special that they were going to do together. Sometimes, they went out for a walk or played in the backyard. Other days, they stayed inside the house to read or watch their favorite show on TV. Today, Sara was planning to help her sister make a castle out of pillows, chairs and blankets. With a smile, Sara considered how much she 7 being a big sister.

As Sara gathered blankets, pillows and snacks to eat in their castle, her sister shouted happily. Then an 8 came to Sara—she was an expert at something! Sara smiled as she knew that she also had a wonderful report. She believed she would hand in an excellent assignment next week.

A group of graduates got together to visit their old university professor. During the visit, the conversation soon turned into complaints about 1 in work and life. Offering his 2 coffee, the professor went to the kitchen and 3 with a large pot of coffee and a variety of cups — porcelain(陶瓷), plastic, glass, crystal(水晶), some beautiful, some expensive, some 4 — telling them to help themselves to the coffee.

When each of the students had a cup of coffee in hand, the professor said, "If you have 5 , all the nice-looking expensive cups have been 6 , leaving behind the plain and cheap ones. It is 7 for you to want only the best for yourselves, but that is the 8 of your problems and stress."

"It is clear that the cup itself adds no quality to the coffee. In most cases it is just more expensive and in some cases 9 hides what we drink."

"10 all of you really want is coffee, not the cup, 11  most of you just went for the best cups. And then you looked to see what cups others picked."

Now consider this: 12 is the coffee; the jobs, money and position in society are the cups. 13 are just tools to hold and contain life, and the type of cups we pick has nothing to do with the life we live. Sometimes, by concentrating only on the cup, we 14 to enjoy the coffee. Value the coffee, not the cups! Don't let the cups 15 you. Enjoy the coffee instead.
