    William Lindesay, a British traveler and writer, has been exploring the Great Wall—one of the human's most wonderful building projects. Not even a Chinese knows the Great Wall of China as well as he does.

    When, as a schoolboy, Lindesay announced his plan to explore the Great Wall, nobody took him seriously. But Lindesay achieved his goal, by spending 25 years on the Great Wall and has become one of the world's most famous experts on its rich history. Lindesay now lives and works in Beijing. This year his new book has come out, The Great Wall Explained, with a lot of photographs and articles.

    Running on the Great Wall was a brave trip and Lindesay had already run 3,000 kilometers along it! During those years, he got to many villages along the way. He was often helped by friendly villagers, although they didn't quite understand why the Englishman would have such interest in the Great Wall.

    Both parents and children have jobs. The parents' job is to go to work to earn money. The children's job is to go to school. But we all get hungry. Someone has to cook the meals and clean up afterward. We all wear clothes that get dirty. Someone has to wash them, iron them, and put them away. Children work from 9 until 4. Parents work from 8 until 6. Sure, after 4 o'clock, children have homework. But after 6, parents have homework too. They have to do the shopping, go to the bank, pay the bills, and help their kids with their own homework!

    I think it's only fair that teenagers help out a bit at home. They might not like it, but it's good for them．It teaches them how to look after themselves．This is really useful when they leave home to go to college or to live on their own.

    A rich couple went shopping for their party．After buying everything they needed，they called a delivery(运送)man to send the things home．The delivery man was quite old and looked like he might be too weak to carry everything．

    The old delivery man asked for $20．a very low price．But the couple still tried to give him $15 for his service．The delivery man didn't like it but agreed because he needed all the money he could get．

    The couple gave the delivery man their address．They returned to their home and waited for hours，but the delivery man never appeared．The wife started to get angry．She and her husband started to go back to the supermarket．On their way，they noticed that a young delivery man was carrying their things in his cart! The wife became angrier and shouted at the delivery man．

    The young man said，"Ma'am，please listen to me．That poor old man has been sick since last month．He hasn't been able to make enough money to buy himself food．I saw him take a bad fall on his way to deliver your things．He said．'I will give you $15 if you can take my delivery to this address．'"

    On hearing this，the couple felt ashamed．They asked where the old delivery man was and went to say sorry to him．
