How time flies! I will be a senior high school student this term. I am very excited and nervous. I feel excited because I {#blank#}1{#/blank#}(learn) more knowledge from my new teachers.  {#blank#}2{#/blank#} (especial), I can learn more about English, math, physics, chemistry and biology. I think they are {#blank#}3{#/blank#}(interest). I can meet many new {#blank#}4{#/blank#}(friend) in senior high school as well. I think they,{#blank#}5{#/blank#} (I) new friends, will be friendly and kind-hearted. I believe I will get along well {#blank#}6{#/blank#}all of my new classmates. As {#blank#}7{#/blank#}saying goes, “A friend is {#blank#}8{#/blank#}(easy) to be lost than found.” If you want to make friends with others, you should treat them true-heartedly. It is really hard,{#blank#}9{#/blank#} I will try.

I feel nervous because I heard that it is difficult{#blank#}10{#/blank#}(study) in senior high school. I think I will meet many problems. But it's nothing serious, because I know if I work hard, I will be successful at last.

    We may be very {#blank#}1{#/blank#} (please ) with the rapid progress we have made in every field of study , but we have almost done nothing {#blank#}2{#/blank#} ( improve ) our present examination systems which focus  {#blank#}3{#/blank#} testing the students' memory instead of their ability . As soon as a child begins school , he enters a world of examination  {#blank#}4{#/blank#} will decide his future of job . In fact , a good examination system should encourage students to think for {#blank#}5{#/blank#} ( they ) . But the examination system now forces the students to remember {#blank#}6{#/blank#} is taught to get high marks . Thus the students who come out first in the examination are often the {#blank#}7{#/blank#} ( good ) in memorizing . What's worse , such an examination system often  {#blank#}8{#/blank#} ( drive ) teachers to cram all the time and forces them to train students what to do with the ( {#blank#}9{#/blank#} ( come ) examination .

    There must be {#blank#}10{#/blank#} better way to test a student's true ability as well as their knowledge .

    Climate change has caused a rise in sea levels. This has increased the amount of salt in fresh water {#blank#}1{#/blank#}(use) on coastal farms. As a result, farmers are {#blank#}2{#/blank#}(gradual) unable to use fields close to the sea. However, Marc Van Rijsselberg, a farmer in the Netherlands is now using a {#blank#}3{#/blank#}(mix) of sea and fresh water {#blank#}4{#/blank#}(grow) healthy and tasty vegetables.

    He teamed up with scientists from the Free University and divided a farm {#blank#}5{#/blank#}eight negated areas. Separate pipes pumped fresh and sea water, and a computer program created water with eight levels of salinity (含盐度).

    The water levels and the levels of salinity was {#blank#}6{#/blank#}(control) by computerized measuring devices called “sensors”. Mr. Van Rijsselberg said he was able to harvest vegetables from most of the eight testing areas. He said the vegetables were smaller than {#blank#}7{#/blank#} grown in fresh water. But he said they also had more sugar and salt, so they tasted much {#blank#}8{#/blank#}(good).

    He found that potatoes grew better than the other vegetables in the combination of sea and fresh water. Mr.Van Rijsselberg said four kinds of these potatoes would be sent to Pakistan {#blank#}9{#/blank#}thousands of hectares of land {#blank#}10{#/blank#}(damage) by salinization last year.
