To save time, many Americans buy foods which can be {#blank#}1{#/blank#}（quick）made ready for the table. On holidays, families enjoy {#blank#}2{#/blank#}（have）delicious meals. For example. On Thanksgiving Day, the {#blank#}3{#/blank#}（four）Thursday in November, family members get together for a turkey dinner with pumpkin pie.

    About ten years ago when I was at university, I worked at my university's museum. One day {#blank#}1{#/blank#} I was working in the gift shop, I saw two old people come {#blank#}2{#/blank#} with a little girl in a wheelchair (轮椅).

    As I looked closer {#blank#}3{#/blank#} this girl, I realized she had no arms or legs, just a head, neck and body. She was {#blank#}4{#/blank#} (wear) a little white dress. When the old people pushed her up to me, I was looking down at the desk. I turned my head and gave {#blank#}5{#/blank#} (she) a smile. As I took the money from her grandparents, I looked back at the girl, who was giving me the cutest, {#blank#}6{#/blank#} (happy) smile I had ever seen.

    Just at that {#blank#}7{#/blank#} , her physical handicap (生理缺陷) was gone. All I saw was this beautiful girl, whose smile just impressed me {#blank#}8{#/blank#} almost gave me a completely new idea of what life is all about. She took me from a poor, unhappy university student and brought me into her world, a world of smiles and love.

    That was ten years ago. I'm a {#blank#}9{#/blank#} (success) business person now and whenever I feel frustrated and think about the trouble of the world, I will think of that little girl and the unusual lesson about life that she {#blank#}10{#/blank#} (teach) me.

    Many years ago, we might not hear of haze(雾霾). But now most of us more than know what haze is and learn the huge disaster caused by haze. For the past two years, haze has appeared in many cities, our life and health {#blank#}3{#/blank#} (affect) by haze.

    Recently, the topic of air pollution has again attracted more and more attention since pollution haze, a kind of weather, {#blank#}4{#/blank#} (appear) frequently in our city. When pollution haze came, the whole city was covered with suspended particles(悬浮颗粒), {#blank#}5{#/blank#}can be breathed into our body causing serious problems to our health. According {#blank#}6{#/blank#} reports, the haze attacked many large cities, such as Beijing, Tianjin, Chengdu and so on. All of the phenomena(现象) tell us that it's time to protect and improve our environment. Compared with the bad effect of the pollution haze, a green and clear environment rather than anything else turns to be {#blank#}7{#/blank#} important role and an urgent issue in our daily {#blank#}8{#/blank#} (life). Meanwhile we just have an earth.{#blank#}9{#/blank#} we don't try to protect our common hometown, we will die off as dinosaurs.

    Some of us think we human beings are so great that we can control nature. I just want to say how stupid the idea is! We shouldn't be the master of nature. And we should be a friend of nature so that we can survive a long time! If it is necessary, we should make some related laws to control pollution haze. And we can take example by England, because they {#blank#}10{#/blank#} (have) the same problem long time ago.
