My grandfather never watched TV. He thought that people spent too much time {#blank#}1{#/blank#} it. Some of his friends{#blank#}2{#/blank#} talked about sports shows, the movies and plays. My grandfather said to himself, "They never read {#blank#}3{#/blank#}books or go out in the evening. "{#blank#}4{#/blank#} he didn't buy a TV.

    Two years{#blank#}5{#/blank#} my grandfather was 60 years old. He stopped {#blank#}6{#/blank#} in the hospital. My father bought him a TV. He {#blank#}7{#/blank#}(开始) to watch all the news. He knows{#blank#}8{#/blank#} more about the world now. And he reads more books, too.
