It's Sunday morning. The students of Class 3 are giving their classroom a good cleaning. Miss Huang, their teacher, is working with them. The children are busy. Some are carrying water, some are cleaning the windows, others are sweeping the floor. Zhang Hua is putting up a map on the wall. It is a map of China. Wang Fei and Wei Qing are mending some broken chairs. The children are listening to the radio while they are working. The classroom looks nice and bright after the cleaning. The children are very happy. They go home for lunch at noon.

    There are forty-two students in our class. There are also two American boys. They are Jack and Mike. They are our good friends. They like watching TV, but they don't like playing basketball. They often go to school by bike. And I often go to school on foot. There is one English girl in our class. Her name is Lucy. She likes playing basketball and she also likes swimming. She usually does her homework in the evening. She often watches TV on Saturday afternoon. She is my good friend. All of the Chinese students are Young Pioneers.

    One day there are four blind men under a tree. They are talking about elephants. An old man is riding an elephant past them(经过他们身边). He lets them touch it. A blind man touches the ear. He says the elephant is like a fan(扇子). A blind man touches the tail. He says the elephant is like a rope(绳子). A blind man touches the leg. He says the elephant is like a tree trunk(树干). A blind man touches the body. He says the elephant is like a wall. What about you?

    Every year the Wilsons go to the beach for a week's vacation. There are many interesting things to do at the beach. The children play games on the sand. Sometimes they build sandcastles. There are saltwater swimming pools. The children can swim safely in these pools.

    This is a long road by the beach. There are many cafes and restaurants on the road. There is also a big park beside the beach.

    The Wilsons always stay at the same hotel. They usually have the same rooms. These rooms are at the front of the hotel. There is a good view of the ocean from their windows. The children are a little sad when the vacation is over because they don't want to go home.
