As middle school students, we should not only know how to protect  {#blank#}1{#/blank#} (我们). But we should know how to help people in {#blank#}2{#/blank#} (苦恼). Zhang Qiang is just the boy who can help himself and others.

    Zhang Qiang is a  {#blank#}3{#/blank#} (有残疾的) student. There is something {#blank#}4{#/blank#} (有毛病) with his left leg. But he never gives up. He often does {#blank#}5{#/blank#} (志愿者) work on weekends.For example, he tells stories to those {#blank#}6{#/blank#} (孤独的) old people in the old people's home. Although it's difficult for him to walk to school, he kept on doing so. At school, he {#blank#}7{#/blank#} (和睦相处) on well with his classmates and teachers.He always gets good {#blank#}8{#/blank#} (成绩). He says, “ I should {#blank#}9{#/blank#} (依靠) on myself and {#blank#}10{#/blank#} (尽力) my best to help others.”

    I'll never forget the first time I left my home for more than one or two nights. I was 11 years old, and I was going to a {#blank#}1{#/blank#}(夏天)camp for one month. When my parents first told me about the camp, I thought it was {#blank#}2{#/blank#}(令人激动的). There were all kinds of activities: swimming, baseball and even horseback riding. My mom helped me with {#blank#}3{#/blank#}(每件事情)I needed for the camp.

    The whole family {#blank#}4{#/blank#}(开车)me to the camp. When we arrived, I saw a lot of kids, but I didn't know anyone! I began to feel {#blank#}5{#/blank#}(可怕的). They gave me a little card with my name on it. At last the time came when my mom and dad said, "Well, Margie, goodbye. Don't {#blank#}6{#/blank#}(担心). And have a great time. We'll {#blank#}7{#/blank#}(经常)call you."

    I had a {#blank#}8{#/blank#}(特别的)feeling and wanted to cry. But just then {#blank#}9{#/blank#}(另一个)girl my age came up to me and said. "Hi, are you Margie? I'm Tammy. Come on, let's go see {#blank#}10{#/blank#}(马)." So off we went, and I had a wonderful month at camp.
