Micah is my 12-year-olddaugher. We used to do many things together. But these days, "I'm good" is about all she says to me, which means "Leave me alone". 

I wondered why she didn't want to do things with me. When I set table for dinner one evening, I heard Micah shout, "Mom, come quickly" I rushed out and found a little baby bird on the ground. My eyes went up to the branches (树枝）. For the last few weeks we had watched the bird make a nest and lay eggs there. "The wind must have blown him out of the nest." I said. "No, it was Mr. Whiskers, our cat. You let him go outside !" Micah said.

I realized she was right. So I said sorry and put the bird back. As soon as we went inside, she began to search for what to feed it on the computer carefully. And I found she focused on the screen more than ever before. She didn't even have dinner with me. "It needs a name," Micah said. "How about Chance ? I think he has a good chance of living with your help."I said. "I like it," said Micah.

Early the next morning, I got up to mix the bird food that Micah found on the Internet. But Chance didn't need it, because his mother was back ! Weeks later, we went to check on Chance. The nest was empty. Chance was standing proudly on a branch.He has grown up ！ Then I realized Micah wasn't a little girl any longer. She is her own person.

It was a Saturday afternoon. Mr Green was reading a newspaper when he heard his wife 1 in the next room. He hurried to her and asked, "What happened to you, my dear?"

"Oh, dear!" his wife called out. "My head hurts! 2 a doctor. Hurry up!" Their two children were both out at that moment and something was wrong with the telephone. Mr. Green had to go to a hospital himself. Bad luck! That day all the hospitals in the town were 3 . Mr. Green didn't know where to go. Just then a friend of his saw him and asked, "What is the matter?"

Mr. Green told everything. The man said, "Why not go to Mr Black? He can help you. "

In 1944, a young man carrying a bag filled with books knocked on the doors of Mr. Wu Dayou's house in Kunming. {#blank#}1{#/blank#} young man was there to ask Wu to let him study in the then National Southwest Associated University (NSAU/Xinan Lianda) , where Wu was a professor. {#blank#}2{#/blank#} (surprising) , just 13 years later, the seemingly common young man won the Nobel Prize in Physics. This man is none other than Mr. Tsung-Dao Lee.

During his years spent in NSAU, Lee quickly grew intellectually. He often {#blank#}3{#/blank#} (find) himself asking Wu after lessons for more work and would often search for {#blank#}4{#/blank#} (know) outside of the courses. 

Lee entered the University of Chicago's Graduate School {#blank#}5{#/blank#} just 23 years old and began researching physics. In 1956, he became {#blank#}6{#/blank#} (young) full professor at Columbia University. One year later, he, along with Chen Ning Yang, won the Nobel Prize in Physics. 

When Lee returned to China in the spring of 1979, he {#blank#}7{#/blank#} (invite) to teach two classes at the University of Science and Technology of China. He badly wanted more Chinese researchers {#blank#}8{#/blank#} (understand) the progress the world has made in the past decades. {#blank#}9{#/blank#} he established the CUSPEA program in 1979, which supported 915 Chinese students to study in the U. S. 

Although he was living abroad. Lee remained connected to China. His legacy serves as an inspiration (激励) for future generations to pursue {#blank#}10{#/blank#} (they) dreams and make a positive difference to the world. 

19- year- old George is armless. But he doesn't let that stop him from {#blank#}1{#/blank#}(share) his interests with the world.

His music talent {#blank#}10{#/blank#} (catch) the eye of an American rock band and they invited him to play with them at a ten- day- long music festival. 

It was 4:00 in the afternoon. Pam and Myles ran into the house 1 and turned on the TV.

"2 does Crazy Cat do today? I can't wait to see." Pam said.

"I know He..." Myles 3 when he saw a different show on TV.

"Did you turn to the wrong channel (频道)?" Pam 4 . Then she looked for Crazy Cat on the Internet. "They put it off to next Monday!" she said 5 .

"What?" Myles said. "What do we do now?" 6 older brother, Brian, walked into the room. Pam and Myles told him about the 7 news. "I love Crazy Cat very much 8 he is like Oscar," Pam said and turned to her fat 9 sitting on the sofa.

"I have a(n) 10 ," Brian said and then went to his room. A minute later he 11 with his video camera (摄像机). "Why don't you follow Oscar around and 12 a Crazy Cat show by yourselves?"

Pam and Myles looked at each other and 13 . Myles took the video camera from Brian. Pam rolled (滚动) Oscar' s 14 soccer ball across the floor, and Oscar jumped out of the 15 to run after it. Oscar climbed up the ball and rolled over it. Pam and Myles were happy that the Crazy Cat show could keep going.
