   In America, parents have a party {#blank#}2{#/blank#} their birthday kid. The birthday kid can get lots of presents and eat the birthday cake with friends. In Brazil, special candies are {#blank#}3{#/blank#} (need) for birthday. In England, the birthday kid {#blank#}4{#/blank#} (lift) up and putdown by his classmates {#blank#}5{#/blank#} (happy). In Thailand, two tall candies are lighted the night before birthday.

    As we all know, it is getting popular to have cake on birthday in China. But parents usually cook {#blank#}6{#/blank#} big dinner for the kid on birthday. The birthday kid eats long noodles or eggs. Long noodles mean long life and eggs bring good luck.

    People in different {#blank#}7{#/blank#} (Country) have different ways to celebrate birthday. It is important for us {#blank#}8{#/blank#} (celebrate) birthday. Everyone grows one year {#blank#}9{#/blank#} (old) after his or her birthday. Relatives and friends feel {#blank#}10{#/blank#} (happy) for his or her growing up.

    Last year, four students waited for their school bus every day for ten minutes, on the same dirty street. There {#blank#}1{#/blank#} (be)old bottles, parts of old bikes, and empty soda cans （易拉罐）everywhere around the bus stop. The trees were brown and had few leaves（树叶）， and you couldn't see flowers at all．

    One Friday, one of the  {#blank#}2{#/blank#} (child) looked at the street and decided to do something. {#blank#}3{#/blank#}next Monday, she brought a bag and {#blank#}4{#/blank#}(find) some of the old bottles to recycle(回收 ). On Tuesday, she spent another ten minutes{#blank#}5{#/blank#} (pick) up old bottles. And her best friend helped pick up （捡起）soda cans and put {#blank#}6{#/blank#}(they) in different bags. On Wednesday, all the students joined together. The street became much {#blank#}7{#/blank#}(clean) than before!

    The street looked better {#blank#}8{#/blank#}it was still not very beautiful. So the next day, the girl brought some seeds (种子). She planted the seeds and watered them. She only had ten minutes a day but that was enough. A few months later, this street became a beautiful garden{#blank#}9{#/blank#}pretty flowers and green trees. It only took ten minutes a day.     The topic of this programme is environmental protection. We human beings {#blank#}1{#/blank#}(do) a lot of things at the cost of the environment to develop economy quickly in the past few years. I do think it is time for us to understand the {#blank#}2{#/blank#}(important) of protecting the environment and do something about it. And today I would like {#blank#}3{#/blank#}(introduce) some simple but useful ways that we can follow {#blank#}4{#/blank#}(easy) in our daily life. Firstly, turn {#blank#}5{#/blank#}lights if it is unnecessary. Then, go out in environment﹣friendly ways such as by bus, by subway or by bike. We can even walk to work when possible,{#blank#}6{#/blank#}it is really helpful for both of our budget and health. Thirdly, try best to {#blank#}7{#/blank#}(use)things like books, paper, magazines and so on. And we can also take a cloth bag when we go {#blank#}8{#/blank#}(shop). Please don't use plastic ones. Of course the public should raise environmental awareness and realize it is {#blank#}9{#/blank#}(everyone) duty to protect the environment. Last but not least, the government should make laws to guide people's {#blank#}10{#/blank#}(behave).
