    It was March 8th, Women's Day. I decided to do something for my mom and give her a surprise.

    Immediately after school, I went to the supermarket, when I bought plenty of vegetables, fish and meat. As soon as I arrived home, I started to prepare the dinner for Mom. It was the first time that I had cooked something on my own. Not knowing the exactly process to cook. I read some recipes first. Keep what I had learned in mind, I got down with cooking. Almost an hour later, three simple but delicious dishes were ready on the table.

    Since Mom couldn't get home until thirty minutes later, I started to do some cleaning. It was not difficult for me. Mopping thoroughly , the floor was quite clean.

    No sooner had everything been ready Mom came back. I couldn't wait to show what I had been done for her. A big smile with both surprise and satisfy spread on Mom's face when she found the hearty（丰盛的）dinner and the tidy room. At that moment, pride rose from a bottom of my heart. Although she fell a little tired, everything was worthwhile.

    In order to develop our interest in English, our school has set up several English clubs, among that the Radio Club is the most popular one. Every afternoon after supper, there are three students to run club. Students can play English songs, or read aloud English poems, essays, news, or story. I still remembered what happened when I hosted the programme for the first time two years ago. A week before it, I had searched the Internet for the later news, attractive topics and our loved English songs. Despite of good preparations, so nervous was I when I sat in front of the microphone that I felt my brain went blank. Thanks to the practice making before, I managed to calm down or concentrate. Several seconds later, I lost me in the broadcasting, really enjoying and appreciated it.

    Last Friday our class invited an old man to teach us why to make dough figurines (面人). When he comes into our classroom, we gave him warm welcome and two boys helped him with the tool box. First, he showed us basic steps and skills of made dough figurines. We stood around him and watched careful. Then we started to have a try ourselves. The old man walked around and helped with us patiently. Finally, we put the figurines what we made on the table and took several picture with the old man. Look at the figurines, we were all very excited. We believe we could have more activities of this kind in the future.

    Last term, I went to America for a student exchange programme. Before go, I was quite proud in my English. But everyone in America spoke so fast that I couldn't make out that what they were saying. Being in completely different culture was frightened and I even wanted to go straight back home.

    However, thing soon got better and better. The host family was very king. Fortunately, the boy that I stay with was crazy about football, that made my stay enjoyable. Beside, being an exchange student offered me a chance improve my English.
