Many years ago there lived two brothers in London. They were both very rich. They had 1 ideas about money. They were quarrelling about what would happen if a poor fellow could 2 a million pound note(钞票). One thought that anyone with such a note would have whatever he wanted; the other thought that it would be 3 for him to get anything with the note. They couldn't agree with each other. So they 4 to make a bet(打赌).

    It happened that a young man named Henry was wandering through the street that day, who had come to Britain only by chance. Without home and job, he looked 5 and hungry.     My aunt, Jenny Lee lives in a town in Canada. She has a 1 face like the sun. Her favorite 2 is Hu Xinger. Now she's in the  3 Wonderful Friends (《奇妙的朋友》) with five other stars. They live and play with many kinds of 4 in the zoo in Guangzhou. These animals are very cute.

    My aunt often tells stories about animals to her son. Today she wants to take him to the 5 to see animals. In the morning, Jenny gets up early and helps her son get dressed. They can 6 the subway to the zoo easily. Her son is only five years old, so he doesn't need to pay for the ticket(票). It's 7. At the zoo, they watch the monkeys 8 the trees.     David grew up poor. He started working in the 7th grade, and when he was in high school he was only going to school half days, 1 at 11 am to go to work.

    Lack of money meant lack of educational chances, but he had a hunger to learn. In his  2  time he read books that he thought it would   3 him succeed somewhere down the road.   

    He worked very hard, and he tried his best to provide for his family,  4factory life had a bad effect on his body and spirit, he had an unhappy life. It was, in his mind, killing him like a slow poison.

    In 1995 he bought his first computer, and a few months later, he discovered the Internet. He wanted to be a part of it, and worked 48 or   5 hours a week in the factory, and  6  another 40 or more hours a week teaching  7  computer skills. He worked harder than he  8  had in his life, surfing the Internet over 100 hours a week.

    David wanted to begin jobs in the Internet and computer fields. He was refused many times, but he never 9 . He had a goal and kept after it10  he didn't like it at all, because  11  else seemed so hopeless. Soon he got a fast return. David left the 12  and took a job in the computing field.

    This is a true story about believing in yourself; a story about finding  13  you love to do and following your dreams.

    My hope in writing this story is that, if you have a dream, you'll be  14  enough to see it through. It's up to you to make it. Remember that even the farthest  15   always starts with the first step.

    Hannah Taylor is a schoolgirl from Canada. One day, when she was five years old, she was walking with her mother in downtown. They saw a man 1 out of a rubbish can. She asked her mother why he did that and her mother said that the man was homeless and hungry. Hannah was very 2. She couldn't understand why some people had to live their lives without houses or enough food. Hannah started to think about how she could 3, but, of course, there is not a lot one five-year-old can do to solve the problem of homelessness.

    Later ,when Hannah attended school, she saw another homeless person. It was a woman, 4 an old shopping trolley（购物车）which was full of 5. It seemed that everything the woman owned was in them. Hannah 6 to do something. She had been talking to her mother about the lives of homeless people 7 they first saw the homeless man. Her mother told her that if she did something to change the problem, she wouldn't 8 so bad.

    Hannah began to speak out about the homelessness. She hoped to 9 her message of hope. She started the Ladybug Foundation(基金) and began to raise money.

    My kids and I decided to go to the supermarket over the weekend. On the way, we saw a man holding a piece of paper that said, " 1 my job. Family to feed."

    At this store, a 2 like this was not normal. My 10-year-old kid noticed him and said it must be awful to have to stand 3 in the cold wind.

    In the store, I asked each of my kids to4 something they thought our "friend" there would appreciate(感激). They got 5 , a sandwich and a bottle of juice. Then my 17-year-old kid suggested giving him a 6 . All the other kids and I thought it was a good idea.

    When we handed him the bag of 7 , he lit up and thanked us with watery 8. When I handed him the gift card, saying he could use it for9his family might need, he burst into tears.

    This has been a wonderful 10 for our family. For days the kids have been looking for others we can 11 ! Things would have played out so 12 if I had simply said, "No, we really don't have 13 to give more. "Stepping out not only helped a father in 14 , it also gave my kids the15 taste of helping others. It'll go a long way with them.
