It's about five kilometers. He drives his car to school every day. My mother usually walks to her school, because her school is near our home. I have two brothers, John and Peter. John is a high school student (高中生). He likes taking a bus to school. He thinks it is fun, because he can meet his friends and tall with them on the bus. It takes him thirty minutes to get to school. Peter and I are students in a middle school. My mother is in the school, too. I always go to school with Peter. We ride our bikes to school for ten minutes every school day.

William Shakespeare was a famous English playwright and poet. Born in 1564 in England, Shakespeare 36．{#blank#}1{#/blank#} (consider) one of the greatest dramatists of all time. His plays have been performed more times than those of any other dramatist. This, {#blank#}2{#/blank#} (undoubted), makes him one of the greatest minds.

Shakespeare's works explore human nature and the {#blank#}3{#/blank#} (true) of social problems through his plays. Some of his most famous works, Hamlet, Othello, King Lear, and Macbeth, still remain {#blank#}4{#/blank#} (power) even today.

Shakespeare left school {#blank#}5{#/blank#} the age of 14. Then, he made a decision {#blank#}6{#/blank#} (find)a career in acting. In 1592, he moved to London and joined a theatre company. It was a {#blank#}7{#/blank#} (turn) point for him. He quickly rose to become {#blank#}8{#/blank#} successful actor and began writing his own plays. Altogether, Shakespeare wrote about 38 plays, 154 sonnets, and several long and short poems. He died in 1616. {#blank#}9{#/blank#}, his works still continue to encourage audiences worldwide.

① On September 5th, 2022, a 6. 8- magnitude (级) earthquake happened in Luding County in Southwest China's Sichuan Province. Very soon firemen, rescuers (救援者) and doctors came to help. 

② The photo of a young rescue r called Zhang Zili holding a 2- month- old baby in his arms moved many people. Zhang and other rescuers found the baby and her grandmother at their home in a village. Luckily, they didn't hurt badly and were sent to hospital. Zhang got a lovely name "Brother Wenchuan" because the Chinese words of "Wenchuan" are on his armband. 

③ 20- year- old Zhang Zili is from Maoxian County, and it is close to Wenchuan County. We all know a 7. 8- magnitude earthquake happened in Wenchuan on May 12th, 2008. 

④ "My house fell down, so my family had to stay in a tent in a school playground. I still remember the tent was dark and I could hear many kids crying. Then an uncle of the PLA (解放军) came to me. He taught me songs to sing and played with me. He kept saying' Don't be afraid because we are here now'," Zhang recalled. The little boy kept these words in his heart. And he will never forget how those firemen, rescuers and doctors worked hard day and night to save people in 2008. In early 2022, when Zhang Zili learnt that the local forest fire brigade (森林消防队) was recruiting (招募) firemen, he joined it at once. 

⑤ "Being a fireman is sometimes dangerous, but saving people from danger is the most important. I love my job," he says. 

Michael is a sports lover. In the "Playing Sports" unit, he has learned the knowledge about various sports. Basketball is his favorite. He often devotes an hour to playing basketball after school. He thinks sports can make people strong and healthy. One day, his school announced(宣布）that there would be a basketball game. He was very excited and prepared for it. He practiced with his teammates every day. They trained hard to enhance their skills. They learned from each other, and encouraged one another during the practice sessions. Michael also made sure to take good care of his body, getting enough rest and eating properly to be in the best condition for the game.
