Tofu is {#blank#}1{#/blank#} kind of popular food in China. Here is one of the {#blank#}2{#/blank#}(story) about how it was invented.

    In the Han dynasty, there was a man {#blank#}3{#/blank#} loved his parents very much. But they were{#blank#}4{#/blank#} old that they could only eat soft food, so the man decided {#blank#}5{#/blank#}(cook) some soybeans (大豆) for them. He mashed the soybeans and made them into a soup.

    The soybean soup didn't taste very {#blank#}6{#/blank#} (good) in the beginning because there were too many soybean crumbs (碎屑) in it. The man took the crumbs away, {#blank#}7{#/blank#} his parents still didn't like it. He thought and thought many times. At last he {#blank#}8{#/blank#}(add) some salt and heated it again. When the soup cooled down, it turned {#blank#}9{#/blank#} a piece of jelly (胶状物).

    The man was {#blank#}10{#/blank#} (surprise) by its taste and his parents loved it very much. Finally, people around the country all learned how to make tofu. And this is how tofu was invented.

    English is difficult {#blank#}1{#/blank#} （learn）because it is so different from our mother tongue（母语）. Also, we don't have much chance to speak English with foreigners or hear English {#blank#}2{#/blank#} （speak）.

    So the first important thing for us to do, I think, is to practise {#blank#}3{#/blank#} （speak）English more both in and out of class. In class I listen to the teacher {#blank#}4{#/blank#} （careful）and try my best to answer the teacher's questions in English. After class, I listen to the tapes and wonderful English {#blank#}5{#/blank#} （song）. I often retell the texts {#blank#}6{#/blank#} my own words. I always work {#blank#}7{#/blank#} （hard）at English and never give up.

    Of course this is not enough. When I find something {#blank#}8{#/blank#} （interest）, I write it {#blank#}9{#/blank#} in English. At first, I couldn't write well, but with the help of my teacher, I have {#blank#}10{#/blank#} （make）great progress.

    Have you ever heard of friendships among animals? At a zoo in Germany, an unusual friendship developed {#blank#}1{#/blank#} a cat and a bear.

    No one is quite sure how the friendship first began. One day, some {#blank#}2{#/blank#}( worker) in the zoo noticed a black cat was in the bear's cage（笼子 ), and the two animals were playing together peacefully. They were surprised how well the small cat seemed to get {#blank#}3{#/blank#} with the large bear. The bear keeper allowed the cat {#blank#}4{#/blank#}(stay) with the bear. And later the pair and their unusual friendship{#blank#}5{#/blank#}(become) a hot topic at the zoo.

    After several years, a new cage was built for the bear. However, the cat was still in the same cage, so it walked around{#blank#}6{#/blank#}(angry) and cried to be with the bear. The bear keeper finally took pity on{#blank#}7{#/blank#} let it stay with the bear. The cat and the bear got{#blank#}8{#/blank#}(close) than before. They often sat together and shared meals in{#blank#}9{#/blank#}sun.

    Sometimes it may be natural for animals{#blank#}10{#/blank#}(have) their own ideas about who would make a good friend. These may surprise humans, who usually expect animals to form relationships with others of the same species.

    I had a trip all over China. I was {#blank#}1{#/blank#} (interest) in how different the weather was in different cities.

    In Qingdao we ate seafood, drank beer and even swam in the sea, In Harbin we {#blank#}2{#/blank#} (wear) our warm clothes and saw the amazing ice and snow sculptures(雪雕).

    Shanghai made me {#blank#}3{#/blank#} (think) of a city in Europe or America. {#blank#}4{#/blank#}are lots of Western cafes.

    Guilin is a good place to visit during the Spring Festival. Fireworks filled the sky and the streets {#blank#}5{#/blank#} busy with excited people. I visited the old  {#blank#}6{#/blank#} (build) and walked around a beautiful lake.

    But Yangshuo is my favorite city. I could not stop {#blank#}7{#/blank#} (take) photos of the beautiful mountains and the Li River, I rode a {#blank#}8{#/blank#} along the Yulong River in the warm sun. I ate strawberries {#blank#}9{#/blank#} drank tea from the farms in the mountains.

    Now I am back in Beiing. I am {#blank#}10{#/blank#} (look) forward to my next trip. I think I will go to another warm place!
