When we talk about stars, especially women stars，it seems that they are always young，pretty and own charming body shapes．But recently a Britain's Got Talent（英国达人）star Susan Boyle has changed our views absolutely(完全地)．
Simon Cowell，one of the judges of the talent show spoke of his shock over Ms Boyb's voice. “This lady came up，and I'm thinking, ‘This will take five seconds and I can go to have a cup of tea.' That changed when she began to sing I Dreamed a Dream from Les Miserables. She knew we were going to have that reaction and just to see that look of satisfaction on her face midway through —it was one of my favorite moments,” Cowell said.
The performance was posted On line and before long，the 47-year-old Scottish woman has been famous all over the world．
Speaking from her home in Scotland,MsBoyle said that she hadn't thought of changing her appearance．She said that her friend helped her with make-up．“I mean，that's hardly a makeover.” she added．
Ms. Boyle also spoke of the reason she first began to explore her vocal(歌唱的) talents．”I was kind of slow at school, so getting something like singing was a good way of hiding behind that and thus it built my confidence．''

    My problems started after I went to a boarding(寄宿)school. I was only 14, and at first I missed my family a lot. I often called them and cried on the phone. But after two weeks, I found I enjoyed being with my classmates at school. I had many friends who were boys. I thought of them as my best friends-but only friend. I never guessed my friendship with boys would become a problem.

    Then, two months later, my friends told me that some teachers and girls said I was hanging out with boys all day long to get attention(注意)from them. A few months after that, the class teacher James asked the class to choose some students to join the Student Union. I thought I could win for I was doing well at school. I came first in the English and Math exams. A week later, the list(名单)came out and it didn't include me. James came to me and said, "Don't be sad. I know you're excellent!     Several months after I was badly hurt in a car accident, my father sent me to a blind school.

    That morning was the new beginning. I went to this school and I heard lots of children. My new teacher took me to the class where we were taught to write and type in Braille(盲文 ). I found it quite difficult.

    "Hi, sweetheart, how is school going?" asked my father.

    "Daddy, I can't do this. I try and try but I just don't get it. I don't know if I am ever going to learn to read Braille. It's too difficult," I cried.

    Daddy just held me in his arm and said, "Do you remember that we went to the temple which is on the top of a mountain? When we were climbing the mountain, my legs started aching. I sat down and said, 'I can't see the temple. You can't see it because it is covered with fog. Although you can't see it, I know it is here. I will make sure you will climb up to it.'"

    "That day you showed me that just you can't see something does not mean it is not there. So although climbing the mountain was difficult, I knew I would get to the top."

    I was clear what my dad wanted me to understand.

    I went back to school and started with new energy. Very soon I could read.

One of my classmates said, "You are lucky, you know, you have at least seen the world. I have just heard it. I have been told there are many colors in this world but I don't understand what color means."

    After listening to her for the first time in two years, I felt lucky. And on that day I learnt that although the light in my eyes is gone. I must see the world with the light in my heart.

    I volunteer with Meals on Wheels every Friday. A week ago, I had the pleasure of helping one of my customers (顾客). She is in her eighties and is very weak and I always bring her lunch on Fridays. She looked worried when she opened the door that day. She told me her phone was broken and that she couldn't receive the call from her doctor. She went to her neighbours, but they were not at home. She thought maybe the mailman could help her, but he didn't come. She was disappointed.

    Having heard her story, I decided to do something for her. I called the phone company immediately and made sure they knew that getting this phone fixed was urgent (紧急的). I took down her phone number and her name just to make sure I could call her later to make sure that the phone had been fixed.

    I called the phone company twice that day. They told me they had checked the phone line and got the phone connected. The old woman was so thankful that she was in tears (眼泪), hugging me for nay help. After that, I called her every day to make sure she was fine.

    My heart is filled with love and happiness. It does not take much time or effort to help someone like a neighbour. Sometimes, all that is needed is a smile, a hug or a phone call.

    A company wanted to get the best employee(雇员). After the competition, only three people were left.

    In the last competition, the three people entered a room with a monitor(监视器). Inside the room, there was everything they needed but no telephone and they couldn't surf the Internet. The three people just waited patiently for the exam questions.

    The first day, three people were very excited, watching TV, reading books and listening to music.
