Space travel is dangerous. For one thing, staying in space for long periods makes the human body weak. Also, it puts pressure behind the eyes and causes eye problems. But gravity(重力) machines could help.

Then there's space radiation(辐射) to worry about. It is bad for astronauts when they have long journeys. Scientists are working out the issue. They have found that taking certain vitamins can help.

Astronauts will have to pack light to lift off from the earth. But they won't be able to get the things they need easily. Astronauts on the space station practice for this by growing lettuce and other food in space. Engineers are developing 3D printing techniques（技术）which can allow future Mars astronauts to build what they want.

Last weekend I went camping with my friends. When we arrived at the campground, we{#blank#}1{#/blank#}our things and {#blank#}2{#/blank#} the tent together. It was exciting to sleep in it at night. The next morning, we{#blank#}3{#/blank#}our coats and walked out of the tent. We ran around the campground for a little while. After running around, I realized I should exercise more, as I noticed I had{#blank#}4{#/blank#}weight recently. In the afternoon, we had a picnic beside a river. I {#blank#}5{#/blank#}some country music when we were eating our picnic. After that, while we were {#blank#}6{#/blank#}our things, we heard a man shout, "Fire! Fire!" We ran to him quickly. Luckily, it was a small fire. We helped the man {#blank#}7{#/blank#}the fire finally. What an unforgettable(令人难忘的) weekend!

"My dear boy," said his father, "Here are some books. {#blank#}4{#/blank#}. I saw you give the money to the poor family. Be ready to help the poor and every year will be a happy New Year to you."

When Peter was six, he started receiving pocket money from his mother. When he turned seven, he 1 £7 a week. Now at the age of fifteen, he 2 £15 every week. He has the raise in pocket money because he spends money wisely.

3 a shopping mall near Peter's home. At weekends, he watches 4 movies with his friends, or takes his little brother to the play center there. He buys his grandparents small presents when he visits them. Sometimes, he takes one 5 bus ride to museums and zoos in another town. When he has saved enough money, Peter goes to the bookstores 6 great books and donates them to children in need. His mother is satisfied with 7 he spends his money. She thinks it is a smart choice to give Peter pocket money. "This habit 8 help Peter manage money well," she says.

Peter's mother even suggests giving pocket money to children as 9 as when they are four. "To learn how to deal with money is 10 useful life skill. Giving children pocket money in their early years teaches them the importance of budgeting."

I used to be very shy, so I usually just listened to other people's conversations. My teacher Mrs. Smith always encouraged me to communicate with others.

 One day, she told us that our class would put on a play she had written. "I need someone to play the lead role. Does anyone want to try?" she asked. A few excited hands were raised up— mine wasn't one of them. Mrs. Smith walked up to me and said," I think you' re perfect for it."

Me, the lead? Mrs. Smith continued," I was thinking of you for the role when I wrote the play!" Suddenly, I thought it was time to throw away my shyness and show the world who I really was. I looked at Mrs. Smith and said," OK, I'll try."

After five months of practicing, the big day finally arrived. I felt so nervous. My knees shook and my heart beat like I'd just run a mile." It doesn't matter how you do tonight," said Mrs. Smith, as if reading my thoughts." You've already shown yourself how wonderful you are. That's the most important thing for you."

Mrs. Smith was right. When I stepped on the stage(舞台), I showed that I could take chances(机会) and be brave enough to make a big change for myself — a girl with new- found confidence(信心). I thanked Mrs. Smith a lot. She helped me to change by encouraging me to act the lead role of the play. It was a great experience and I'll never forget it.
