The sun was going down when we arrived at the ground floor of the building. I was afraid of going to the top of tall buildings, so I was a little   {#blank#}1{#/blank#}   when I walked into a lift. The lift climbed faster and faster  {#blank#}2{#/blank#}  we reached the 88th floor. It  {#blank#}3{#/blank#}   high up there, but I was not afraid when I stood at the top.

  The Jin Mao Tower in Shanghai is 420.5   {#blank#}4{#/blank#}   high. It is one of the tallest buildings in the world. It {#blank#}5{#/blank#}    in 1999, and it has a fantastic view of Pudong District and the centre of Shanghai. I really like t he tower and I am sure I will visit it again.

Our school is in a {#blank#}1{#/blank#} town. You can't find it on the map. In our school there is an {#blank#}2{#/blank#} garden. In the middle of the garden there is a {#blank#}3{#/blank#} apple tree. After class the{#blank#}4{#/blank#} students often have a rest under it. Near the garden there is a library. You can read the books in the reading room, But you must be {#blank#}5{#/blank#} in it and keep the room clean.

    Betty wrote to her grandma about her visit with Jenny in Paris．Her aunt and uncle met{#blank#}1{#/blank#}at the airport on Wednesday．On Thursday they visited the Louvre Museum with many world—famous{#blank#}2{#/blank#}of art．Then they enjoyed dinner in a French restaurant．On Friday morning they took a walk in the street markets and did some shopping．Betty{#blank#}3{#/blank#}a present for her grandma．On Friday afternoon they went to the top of the Eiffel Tower with lots of{#blank#}4{#/blank#}．It was wonderful for them to see all the lights{#blank#}5{#/blank#}at night．On Saturday they will take a boat tour on the River Seine．

    Everybody knows that it is dangerous to cross the street without looking both ways in China. However, I had a different experience in Berkeley, a beautiful city in California, US.

    I didn't know what to do when I had to cross the roads{#blank#}1{#/blank#}my first couple of days there：I wondered whether I should let the car go first or not？Based on my old experience back in China, I would certainly let the car go. "Who wants to be knocked down by a car？"I thought to{#blank#}2{#/blank#}.

    One day. I was checking for cars while I was waiting to go to the other side of the road. An SUV came fast toward me, so I stopped and{#blank#}3{#/blank#}. However, to my great surprise, the car stopped right in front of me. To be honest. I was a little confused because in China drivers usually try hard to drive as{#blank#}4{#/blank#}as possible to cross the road before people step out. Not knowing what to do for a moment, I saw no sign the car was going to move, so I offered a "signal" to let him go first.
