吉林省德惠市第三中学2018-2019学年八年级下学期5月月考英语试卷(含听力音频)

阅读下列短文,回答问题。

Some students think taking notes by hand is too tiring, so they use digital (数码的)cameras to take pictures of the words that their teachers write on the blackboard. Some even use digital recorders to record what teachers say in class.

The children are clever to make use of technology (技术). They might think there are too many notes to take. They might also think that teachers write too fast. They are just trying to find ways to make things easier. But so digital cameras or recorders really make taking notes easier?

Not really! Before you can read the notes on your digital cameras, there are a lot of things to do. You have to find a computer to download the photos. You also have to find a printer to print the photos out.

To listen to the sounds from the digital recorder is even harder. There is usually a lot of noise with what you have recorded. You will have to listen to it several times before everything is clear.

In fact, taking notes by hand really helps you to remember and understand what you are learning. You only need to write down key points. You don't have to write down everything.

(1)、Why do some students use digital cameras and recorders in class?
A、Because they want to take pictures of what their teachers write on the blackboard. B、Because they want to record what their teachers say in class. C、Because they want to show they are clever to make use of technology. D、Both A and B
(2)、How does the writer think students should take notes in class?
A、By hand. B、By digital cameras. C、By digital recorders. D、By modern technology.
(3)、What's the right order of the following steps if you want to read the notes from digital cameras?

a. download the photos

b. find a computer

c. print the photos out on paper

d. find a printer

A、d-c-a-b B、b-a-d-c C、b-c-a-d D、c-d-a-b
(4)、Why is taking notes by a digital recorder harder than by hand?
A、Because the teacher doesn't speak clearly. B、Because a digital recorder doesn't work well. C、Because there is usually a lot of noise with sound and you'll have to listen to it several times to make everything clear. D、Because teachers don't allow them to bring recorders into class.
(5)、Which of the following is NOT true according to the passage?
A、Taking notes by hand of everything that the teachers write on the blackboard is necessary. B、Taking notes by hand is helpful for remembering and understanding what you are learning. C、Taking notes of the most important things can save your time. D、Digital cameras or recorders don't make taking notes easier.

A lunch break is an important and often necessary part of our working or school day. It's time to get something to eat and maybe chat with some friends. And now we're gradually getting used to plenty of places to buy our lunch from, all offering delicious dishes and sandwiches to eat.

But buying our lunch is not just costing us money, there might be a cost in polluting our planet, too. Just a sandwich and maybe a cake and coffee can produce much waste. Packing paper and plastic are part of disposable (一次性的) materials besides the food waste that we create. Some experts say throwing away food is a big cause of environmental problems.

As for the solution (解决办法) to the problem, according to an environmental group called Hubbub, is to eat packed lunches. Tessa Tricks from the group thinks it's usually healthier and cheaper to make your own lunch.  ▲

Of course, if you don't have time to prepare your packed lunch and you are going to buy lunch, Hubbub proposes that you should take your own food container (容器) to a shop and ask them to put your food in it. The idea of using reusable coffee cups for hot drinks and refilling water bottles has already been known successful, so this could be another step in the right direction.

The problem with eating is that you might want to carry your food in something that is disposable, so it's a good idea to make sure it's something recyclable. The message seems to be that if we give our lunchtime eating habits some thought, we will all make an effort in the climate (气候) change and protecting our environment. That is something for all of us to consider and take action!

①Feelings are difficult to do with, especially for a 4-year-old who doesn't know why his mum won't let him eat another cookie and an 8-year-old who is unhappy that his dad got called back to work and has to leave the playground early.

②For parents, it's very important to begin teaching kids about their feelings as early as possible because their feelings influence(影响) every choice they make. Kids who understand their feelings are less probably act out by getting angry or fighting with others. They can use clear sentences to express their feelings.

③A good way to help kids deal with feelings is to discuss the different feelings how different roles in TV series may feel. When watching TV a parent could stop and ask the kid, "How do you think he feels right now?" Then, discuss the feelings that person may experience and the reasons.

④Doing so also teaches empathy. Young children think the world centers around them, so it can be an experience for them to learn other people have feelings too. When young children can understand other people's feelings, they are less likely to do bad things to them. For example, if a child knows that pushing his friend to the ground may make his friend mad and sad, he will do so less.

⑤Teaching a kid about feelings will help him become mentally(精神上)strong. Kids who have the skills to deal with their feelings will be so confident that they can handle(处理) whatever they meet in their life.
