Bob is a lovely schoolboy. He likes playing football very much. He often plays football with his classmates after school, but he never goes home too late. He usually gets home between 4:30 and 5:30 in the afternoon. One day he comes back home late, so his mother says, ”You come back home late today, Bob!””Yes, we have got a new teacher. He teaches us Maths,” Bob answers. “How is he?”his mother asks. “I don't know. I think I can't believe him.””Why?”his mother says. “In today's Maths class, one moment he says two and three is five. But the next moment he says one and four is five.” Bob answers.

    Mr Li is a teacher of English . He is not young , but he is not old . He has a round face and black hair . He is tall . There are fifty students in his class . They all like him . Now it's in the afternoon . Look , some students are working in the classroom . Mr Li is there , too . He is helping them to study English . He is a good teacher , and he is a good friend of them all .

Mr. Li: Who broke the window, Ben?

Ben: I don't know.

Mr. Li: Really? Mary saw you play basketball here.

Ben: I'm sorry, Mr. Li.

Mr. Li: Don't tell a lie (谎言）again.

Ben: I'm so sorry. I will not do it again.

Mr. Li: I'm happy to hear that. You're a good boy.

    Many parts of the world have four seasons. They are spring, summer, fall and winter. Spring follows winter. It becomes warmer and the days become longer. Plants begin to grow and many animals have babies. Summer is the hottest season. It does not get dark until late. Plants grow fast. In fall the days get shorter. The weather turns cooler. Trees may lose their leaves. Some birds fly to warmer places. Winter is the coldest season. It gets dark early in the evening. Plants stop growing and many trees are bare(光秃).

    There was an old man known as the Foolish Old Man (Yu Gong). His house was in the big mountains. Two big mountains stood in front of his house. Every day, when he went to the farm, he had to take a lot of time to get out of the mountains.

    One day, Yu Gong called all his family together to talk about how to move the two mountains to other places. Then they began to break rocks and dig earth. They carried the rocks and earth in baskets to the seaside of Bohai.

    Later the Heavenly God, upon learning of Yu Gong's story, was greatly touched. He then ordered another god to come down and take the two high mountains away.
