We think that life in Chinese high school is an adventure in which we have to survive mountains of homework and all kinds of exams. Yet would it be {#blank#}1{#/blank#}(surprise) if I tell you that high school life in the US is almost as stressful and demanding

       In US high school, everything must {#blank#}3{#/blank#}(record) into your studying document, including your grades on quizzes, tests and final examinations. Failing

Perhaps completely different from {#blank#}5{#/blank#}we used to think of theUS high school students, they pay great attention to {#blank#}6{#/blank#}(they) academic performance in order that they can get into a distinguished university.

       Like university students, US high school students have the {#blank#}7{#/blank#}(free) to choose the courses that most interest them. Even a ninth-grader can sit {#blank#}8{#/blank#}the same classroom as 12th-graders. But this also {#blank#}9{#/blank#}(mean) he orshe has to work very hard, because the teacher will not treat him or her {#blank#}10{#/blank#} (different).

    For those {#blank#}1{#/blank#} have seen War for the Planet of the Apes, it's easy to come to this conclusion-the movie isn't about war or the planet, and it's not {#blank#}2{#/blank#}(necessary) even about the apes. The movie is about {#blank#}3{#/blank#}(survive) and the choices we all make when one wants to survive, good or bad.

    With a story that should have been full of conflict and violence, it takes a different approach. You may find {#blank#}4{#/blank#}(you) exposed to small pockets of action. While recent sci-fi movies have become {#blank#}5{#/blank#}(know) for their action and scenes, War for the Planet of the Apes has taken science fiction {#blank#}6{#/blank#} a thoughtful and intelligent direction.

    War for the Planet of the Apes may not be the action and monster film that you had in mind, {#blank#}7{#/blank#} it's the kind of film that will make you want to sit in silence in the theater for a few minutes after it ends, taking in {#blank#}8{#/blank#} you've just witnessed.

    The few movies that have that effect {#blank#}9{#/blank#}(be) usually about humans, but this film enables people {#blank#}10{#/blank#}(feel) that way about apes. And that is what makes it a masterpiece.

    One day a girl was walking in the woods when she found two weak birds. She took them home and put them in a small cage. The {#blank#}1{#/blank#} (care) birds grew strong. Every morning they greeted her {#blank#}2{#/blank#} a beautiful song. The girl loved {#blank#}3{#/blank#}very much and wanted their singing to last forever.

    One day, the girl left the door to the cage open. Immediately, {#blank#}4{#/blank#} larger of the two birds flew out. The girl was afraid that it would fly away and never come back again. So when it flew close, she grasped(抓住) it wildly. {#blank#}5{#/blank#}(fortunate),  the bird died in her hand. It was her love for the bird that killed it.

    She noticed the other bird jumping the cage. She could feel its great need for    {#blank#}6{#/blank#}(free). She lifted it from the cage and {#blank#}7{#/blank#}(set) it free. The bird was flying happily in the sky, {#blank#}8{#/blank#}made the girl so glad. Just then, the bird sat softly on her shoulder and sang the {#blank#}9{#/blank#}(sweet) song she had ever hear.

This allowed them to have electric lights and radio. Today, there is a{#blank#}10{#/blank#} (globe) movement to supply more and more of our electricity through the use of wind.

    Everyone{#blank#}1{#/blank#}(love) snow. But when school stays open despite the snow, it can be really annoying. However, there is one upside of going to school{#blank#}2{#/blank#}a cold winter day: you might be smarter. So far, researchers who study the brain{#blank#}3{#/blank#}(find) that cold temperatures make us think more quickly since messages travel faster among our brain cells. So the scientists say{#blank#}4{#/blank#}(hang) out on a cold morning may boost the result of any test that day.
