Are you still doing the V for victory sign? It's out. The latest popular hand gesture (手势) is to curl (卷曲) both of your hands and put them together to make a heart shape.

Known as "Hand heart", many young stars in the US including Justin Bieber, Blake Lively and Taylor Swift have done the gesture in recent photos.

"The heart hand gesture means something between I love you and thank you," said the country singer Taylor Swift. It's a sweet, easy message which you can send without saying a word.

Taylor Swift often puts her hands above her head in the heart shape at her concerts. And she as believed to be the first to make the gesture popular. Last month during a charity show, Justin Bieber and his superstar friends did the hand heart and put the photo online. They did it to help three kids whose parents were killed in a car accident. Along with firewood (柴), rice, oil, salt, sauce and vinegar, tea is considered one of the seven necessities for life in China. Now, it has also won global (全球的) attention as a shared cultural treasure of mankind.

Since ancient times, Chinese people have been planting, picking, making and drinking tea. More importantly, China's tea culture has developed social custom. It is Chinese tradition that a host should welcome visiting guests with boiled tea. A poem by Song poet Du Lei reads: I offer tea, not wine, to a guest on a cold night.

Boiling tea is one of the oldest Chinese tea brewing (煮沏) methods, dating back (追溯) to the Tang Dynasty (618-907). Tea leaves were boiled for a long time and sometimes they were cooked together with different kinds of herbs (草药) and fruits. During this process, people can enjoy a quiet time. Later in the Ming Dynasty (1368-1644), a faster and more convenient method become more popular—steeping (冲泡).

However, the old method is now making a comeback among Chinese young people. On the app Xiaohongshu, here are over 40,000 posts on the topic of "stove-boiled" tea (围炉煮茶). They roast tea leaves before boiling them in a teapot on a stove. People sit around the stove in a natural setting and have snacks with their hot tea. Some also wear traditional hanfu as if it could take them back to those ancient times.

Through "stove-boiled" tea, people can taste a slower life and find their inner peace (内心平和). As is written in one Xiaohongshu post, "It is very relaxing to drink hot tea and chat with best friends."

Bob's life story began in 1937 when the Golden Gate Bridge opened, which gave Americans renewed pride and faith in the economy after a hard period at that time. Having moved several times during his childhood, his family eventually settled on the south side of their city.

Anne and Joseph are talking about an interesting question. Why do some people change their names? There can be many reasons. Hanna changed her name to Anne because she thought it would be easier for people to remember. On the other hand , Joseph is thinking about changing his name to an unusual name because he wants to be different.

People have a lot of reasons for changing their names. Film stars, singers, sportsmen and some famous people often  change their names because they want names that are not ordinary, or that have special sound. They chose the "new names " for themselves instead of the names their parents gave them when they were born.

Some people have another reason for changing their names. They have moved to a new country and want to use a name that is usual there. For example, Li Kaiming changed his name to Ken Lee when he moved to the United States. He uses the name Ken athis job and at school. But with his family and Chinese friends, he uses Li Kaiming. For some people, using different names makes life easier in their new country.

In many countries , a woman changes her family name to her husband's after she got married. But today, many women are keeping their own family name and not using their husband's. Sometimes, women use their own names in some situations and their husbands' in other situations. And some use both their own names and their husbands'.
